    Probably.

Most of NK's hardware is dated, its use it or lose it time basically.

Capturing key sites in the South would be their only hope of survival against the US.

They would have to risk that the US doesn't have the stomach for another war over there.

Then they could attempt to negotiate with China or Russia for back up which would take us out of any war.

Add to that, should it not matter which one it is and retaliate.

Now we have to define our boundaries as to what that entails.

Conclusion: I have too many questions and too few answers...
Wonder if the Pentagon is in that same dilemma.

They don't need the US that much as they are picking up the US European trade and the Asian Pacific trade Trump seems intent on dumping. We actually owe China $1.102 trillion, as of May 2017.

If we go to battle with NK, would we try to take and occupy territory? China likely wouldn't like that. They like a buffer zone between themselves and SK.

The question is not about lil kim or trump.... the wild cards are china and russia. What will they do.....
So, you think that if L'il Kim launches anything in even the general direction of Guam, the response will be all-out declaration of war? That's rather a scary proposition...

--I think, the only way it gets to the point of conflict, is if the fat little freak actually provokes someone, with an act of war.

Even then, as in the case of sending a Missile OVER Japan, it probably would not provoke war, but, push things.

And, as he keeps pushing, America will keep putting assets in the region, even as Japan, South Korea, and, perhaps, Taiwan, start upping their military preparedness.

Inevitably, CHINA, will have to either DO something about Fat Kim (What??? I have no idea), or, face a far greater American presence (above and beyond, what we already have), in the region.

As it is, Fat Kim and The Don are just farting in each other's direction. While that may help Fat Kim keep his own people subjugated, his nation is swiftly losing any sort of support.

When China shuts down the supply lines that SUPPORT North Korea, the fat little goon will have some troubles just keeping things running.

What he does then? Who know's.

A war against a member of NATO would change all that. They wouldn't risk it.

I don't. I think a shot near Guam means we strike various places. News today was showing various hot spots in NK where we know important stuff is. Its likely it would be a strike.

NK has subs and long range missiles now. NK is also working to launch missiles from subs, that changes things big time.
