I would too... I don't tend to walk into battles I know for a fact I would lose.

If taken, LITERALLY, this may be a claim. (We don't know if he actually SELLS, or even hoards, 'snake oil....')

    Otherwise, it is pretty accurate.

But, there are a LOT of Snake Oil salesmen (and women) out there, these days.

Trust NO ONE, until you check, double check, and triple check. Even then, take everything with a grain of salt.

Good advice. I think the people who pay attention to Alex Jones are pretty credulous so long as you're saying something they like, forcefully. There are at least half-a-dozen members of congress who get elected by this very formula.

Would someone be so kind as to post the John Oliver piece on Alex Jones? It clearly demonstrates what a fraud Jones is? I can't embed videos from my tablet. Thanks!

I was trying to remember where I'd seen a comprehensive takedown of Jones selling the cures for the frightening problems he raises. ^^

Well, it IS a forum for debate...

This is an issue with strong opinions, so, ya, it is a "battle"... the best idea backed by the strongest logic wins.

So, when you do the hit and run tactic that you demonstrated, it's kinda like thinking you can sucker punch someone and get away with it... and that might work many times the one sucker punch might be all that is needed, but ten sooner or later you'll try that on some heavy weight boxer and suddenly that suckere punch is nothing.

would be curious to see if the average zinc supplement would pass the same tests?

I'M not comparing anything, the agency / lab cited in the article was. and i was not able to determine what EXACTLY they were comparing, the statement in the article was referring to Jones' product, lacking an impact based on the low content of zinc, vs. another one with an "impactful" amount of zinc.

    From Bman's link :Survival Sheild:

    Survival Shield

This product measured 1830 mcg/serving of iodine, slightly below its claim of 1950 mcg/serving. We also tested this product on the chance that it might potassium iodide or sodium iodide, common formulations for iodine supplements used to treat thyroid disorders, which it wasn't. Survival Shield is just plain iodine, the same stuff doctor's used to pour on surfaces as a disinfectant. If your doctor told you that you really needed iodine, iodine and iodide forms work similarly well and are usually priced quite affordably.

While iodine deficiency can lead to impaired thyroid health, hormonal imbalance, and metabolic disturbance, you should NOT take more iodine if you are already getting enough. In fact, excessive iodine can cause serious health problems - from nausea and vomiting to thyroid cancer and coma.

To be safe, the American Thyroid Association warns consumers NOT to take more than 500 mcg/day of iodine unless instructed and monitored by qualified health professionals. Since The National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) began in the 1970s, researchers have found that we generally get sufficient iodine from food sources alone.
    So it's a scam.

I rest my case, that was easy.
    Thanks from TennesseeRain
