Well, since the spokesperson for the police department said that there is no way for them to know what the warrant was issued for, I'm gonna take their word for it over your bullshit.

You post didn't have the spokesperson saying that. That claim was made by whoever wrote the story.

If one has an arrest warrant for a sex offense it is entirely possible they have not been convicted of a sex offense, and as such wouldn't be on a sex offenders list.

Since the arrest warrant lists the offense, that is all they need.

Apology for a misleading thread title.

    Or a false thread title.

    Maybe a lying thread title.

"Their word" never included "bench warrant". Those are your words, not theirs.

Are you really so out of touch with reality you don't know the police always have arrest warrants for folks they have been unable to track down?

"If you come to a shelter you will be arrested." - No one who knows they have a bench warrant pending is going to go to a shelter under those conditions. Result? Much higher likelihood they drown. "If you are on the sex offenders list, we won't let you in" Result? Much higher likelihood they drown. Doesn't seem all that misleading, or false to me.

So? Not my problem if you can't take the time to read the story in the OP.

Okay. Those were two separate conditions:

Condition one: If you have an unserved warrant, and come to a shelter, we will arrest you.

Condition two: If you come to a shelter, and are on the sex offenders list, fuck off.

Why is it that you are the only one having difficulty understanding the meaning of the two very clear tweets from the Polk Sheriff's Department?

Are you incapable of understanding English, or are you just trying to create confusion where none exists?
