What is black culture in America?

I'll just leave the title as the OP also. What in your opinion is the definition of black culture in America?

All black people claim the same as you said in the other thread? There is ONE black culture and it's due to slavery?

It was an invention of oppression.

OK, for that set. Not for recent immigrants from Africa or the Caribbeans. But if that is to be the standard meaning of the term, I have no issue with that. As long as people on here don't react badly when people want to honestly discuss racial issues and talk about how some of the (intentional) counter-culture aspects that some blacks take on (like refusing to speak proper English) are simply unpleasant to many, and the admission of such does not make one a racist. Deal?

There's Chinese culture as well, N.Y. China town.
Again, a product of oppression and segregation.

I guess White Culture could quite possible be known as the oppressors.

Is it all really? Some cultures, the people come over here and WANT to stay with their own. We're not making them.

I'm sure there are sorts of aspects and versions and varieties of black culture.

What's dumb about the premises of both of your threads is this:

Everything doesn't always have an equivalence. There can be "black culture" without an equal and opposite "white culture." This isn't physics. It's sociology.

    What cultures would that be?
Eventually though, these people mix with other races to create diverse subcultures.

OK but what you are replying to is my statement that there is not one black culture as you asserted.
