You sure meet a lot of African Americans in Australia.

This is a common type of response online. Xenophobes believe you can only know stuff according to your GPS. So how could Neil Armstrong know anything about Earth while he was on the moon? When you extend the logic, it means cancer surgeons can only know their science if they've had cancer. A guy in California couldn't know anything about Vegas because he's in California. A man working in K-Mart couldn't possibly know anything about Target, etc. It's quite funny, but they believe in it. I'm sure anthropologists and psychologists find it amusing. It never ceases to amuse me.

I'm amused too because you're the one who claimed to have raised this point with African Americans. I pointed out that you must meet a lot of them in Australia. You then defend your statement by saying one doesn't have to be geographically near something to have knowledge of it. So, tell me more about all these African Americans you said you've met who were nowhere near you when you met them.

Rob steps in another cow pie... hilarious.

Especially when they've never been there, and most can't even point it out on a map. Practically none know anything about the politics in Africa, and few would agree with it.

    So why the false label?

It's true their ancestors were from there, but we all have ancestors from somewhere else. So what?

    .
Are you are accusing all African-Americans of duping you via a false label, or just some of them?

I suspect you want to go with the latter.

Obviously the point flew over your head. I'll walk you though it. You decided I met them in Australia. So your logic is as described. "You can't meet someone anywhere in the world if you live in Australia, so you must have met them there. Only Americans can travel and meet people oversees."

I'm obviously referring to the majority of African Americans. If I said, "Why do Rolls Royce engines run so well?" I'd obviously be talking about the ones that are working, not the ones on a scrap pile.

I don't follow your analogy because it doesn't work no matter how I suss it, but you replied to me, so that's a start.

Most can't. Same with whites, but they don't tag themselves African.
