Ryan has no support group, and I'll tell you this, while the republicans were quietly trying to take back power from the executive branch during the campaign, he was being fought tooth and nail by the freedom fry heads in Congress; if you remember it was Cheney who pulled alarming power from the legislative branch during Bush II reign; and of course, that sword is double edged, Obama reaped the benefits of it, ESPECIALLY when CONGRESS SAID THEY WOULDN'T DO THEIR JOB. Obama was up front and said if they won't do it, he would and he would his job at the same time. And he did. But in anticipation of a Hillary win, Ryan tried to re-position the congress so defray Clinton's power in the Exec branch, it failed, but what did they end up with? Trump.

Right now McCain and others are crafting legislation to protect transgenders in the military; unless its a clear conservative heart felt issue, (and I don't mean social) nothing will pass in this congress, nothing.

Because the truth is, Ryan has no one, McConnell has no one, and Trump has no one, but the moderate republicans and democrats are coming together, think of it as the kids table at Thanksgiving getting a few extra seats.

How did Cheney take power from the legislative branch?

    What exactly did he do?
