You gotta love liberal standards...they don't like what someone else does and the liberty that protects it is supposed to be tossed aside.

Maybe in the Australian constitution, but the Supreme Court of the United States of America ruled that is clearly and individual right in the US Constitution. There were repeating rifles with 28 round magazines commercially available with the Bill of Rights was ratified.

    So?
Walk into a crowd of thousands of people and try to kill 59 of them and injure 500 with a baseball bat before you are stopped cold, and probably beaten to death.

Link to the last time over 500 Americans were injured and 58 killed with a baseball bat by one perp...in ten minutes?

yeah. air rifles, and they were repeaters, not semi-automatic. at least tell the whole truth instead of half.

It was rapid fire and deadly in the day and would have been the weapon of choice for a mass shooting. Was it bolt action? Pump action? If not semi-auto what?

do you understand the difference between single shot, repeater and semi-automatic? some research might be in order if you do not. besides, the air rifle of the 18th century was issued to Austrian troops and they disliked it. seems it was quite cumbersome and the seals leaked frequently. also needed lots of support troops to keep it up. let's get real - if it was such a marvel weapon, how come very few have ever heard of it and the Austrian army didn't exactly win many battles because of it (if any).

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for guns. My dad gave us guns when were kids, and we used them responsibly. We hunted with them. Dad also told us we couldn't have them if we weren't responsible with them. Was he a ‘gun grabber’ for saying that?

I kept a rifle under our piano, and my kids wouldn’t touch it because I raised them with discipline.

Society decided about two generations ago to abandon discipline in the home and family. Since then two generations of murder brats have grown up. They’re not responsible with guns, especially semi-automatics. Since you can’t control your murder brats you can’t be trusted with semis either. Your brats will ignore your rules and take them from you, and that’s when the school slayings begin. So if you want my support to keep semi-automatics, discipline your kids. If you can’t do that you know what you can do with your semi-automatics.

As for the 2nd, there’s no way the FFs wanted gangs of MS14 thugs walking around with machine guns. If they were able to see what’s going on today they would rush back and make major amendments to keep that from happening.

They didn't exempt the repeating rifles that were available back in the day, nor did they exempt any military grade weapon.
