I doubt that the folks who vote for such totally unqualified candidates would even consider taking their car to a carwash to have their transmission serviced, but they don't seem to think that any expertise whatsoever is required in order to hold public office. I worry that we've become too collectively stupid, as a society, to pull ourselves out of this downward spiral into anarchy.

The snowflakes are already coming unglued and we still have 13 months before the midterm.

These people don't have a lot in life, little money, no college degrees. They live for the time when they can hunt, go four wheeling, fishing etc. They never went to the doctors to begin with. We have lots of people who have spouses that are nurses or friends and when they get hurt they call them to their house and let them help them. They don't go to a doctor. So to them, medical care is something for rich people. My next door neighbor brags about not going to the doctor in "over 30 years." Its like a badge of honor. Its a strange phenomenon but that's the reality of some of them. Guns are more important than healthcare.
People here are like that too. But everyone has their medical issues eventually. People think paying a few thousand a year for car insurance and homeowner's insurance is worth it "just in case" but they don't see the need for health insurance. Fear of facing mortality, maybe? I don't know.

My sister's been in the hospital for the last 4 months recovering (with many setbacks) from a gallstone entering her bile duct and causing pancreatitis. Trump supporter, no insurance, hated Obamacare. Wound up getting Medicaid anyway, but if the system were "pay or die" she'd have died penniless in the first week. You just can't foresee these things and even if you're a millionaire you couldn't pay the bills for extended hospitalization without insurance. It's astronomical.

Shit happens. It just does and you can't shoot your way out of ICU bills unless you turn the gun on yourself.

The thing is the political elite are losing control of the parties. The Democrats were able to fend off Bernie while the Republicans were not able to do the same with Trump. Either way they're in more trouble than they seem to think. I'm just fine with that.

Know so many people like that too. One of my friends is a nurse and she has said she sees so many people who haven't been to a doctor in decades but they hit 65 and get Medicare and then are there all the time. She had one patient who had a really good job too and she had asked him "when was the last time you saw a doctor" and he was like "around 1980 or so!" lol I do think at least for older people, it has been something for the wealthier. I also know when I started working, we had a company doctor who did physicals. I thought it was pretty cool. You could schedule a time and go down and get a complete physical and there wasn't any paperwork since the company paid for it. So I guess for many older people that's what they did. Generational thing maybe? Although my kids don't like the doctors and I don't even know if they go anymore either.

Bernie was submarined by the corporatists at the DNC.

Hell, they're working against him now.
