    "Robert Mueller Cant Save Us"

Interesting piece in the Washington Post..

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is a mythic presence in Washington. He is everywhere and nowhere: As the world revolves around him, he continues to elude the press and the public. Even the location of his office remains unknown.

Compare this with the president, who cannot help but make himself the center of attention in any situation and who blurts out his every thought on Twitter. Muellerís investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election is a black box. The Trump White House is the leakiest in memory. Where Trump is loud, Mueller is quiet. Where Trump is brash, Mueller is careful. In the American imagination, Mueller is more than Trumpís adversary or the man who happens to be investigating him. Heís the presidentís mythic opposite ó the anti-Trump.

The trouble, of course, is that Mueller cannot and will not save us.

Thereís no way of knowing how long his investigation will take and what it will turn up. It could be years before the probe is completed. It could be that Muellerís team finds no evidence of criminal misconduct on the part of the president himself. And because the special counsel has no obligation to report his conclusions to the public ó indeed, the special-counsel regulations do not give him the power to do so without the approval of Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein ó we may never know what he uncovers. The horror of much of his behavior is that it may be well within the law and presidential authority ó and yet entirely unacceptable.

Ultimately, we imagine Mueller as a white knight because itís easier than taking responsibility for confronting this presidency ourselves.

If Donald Trump keeps America out of a major war then the damage he will do in 4 years will be minimal.

We have previewed exactly what a full one term Trump presidency will be. No legislative accomplishments with minor reversible EOs.

    Donald Trump is being handled.

Gee and I thought MUELLER was taking care of the CRIMINAL end of TRUMP and his entourage! I didn't know he was supposed to be a savior. Another memo I must've missed. I want him to tell us who did what, when, where and HOW. And let the chips fall on who and where they may. (Yes it will be rich with details and indictments).

That's 'background' now! Trump will be OUSTED, time is the only unknown, because he is getting increasingly out out control, combatant, PARANOID but far worse, remains IGNORANT to the history, law, process and the basics of what he needs to know about his job and the 'company' he signed on to lead!
And he isn't having a good time. Being president is HARD!

It certainly seems so. But I cannot use my own powers of prediction because I never thought we'd be here now.

That's just it, Trump has done all sorts of unthinkable and unimaginable things. Each step of the way its mind boggling. Yet he we are and he is president. I do think it does do some damage to focus solely on the legal process and not have a plan for post Trump. Or how to run in opposition to him if by chance he runs again. "We hate Trump" isn't a winning slogan if millions of people are suffering. Trump is running an excellent cultural war and nobody yet has figured out how to run against that without alienating people.

The beauty is Trump can not win on cultural issues alone. He had to lie about his abilities. He has lost voters that believed he was going to be transformative and bring manufacturing jobs back.

His cultural war clowns will stay with him.

I don't really know. I never thought he had a snowballs chance in Hell of winning in 2016. Many of the states he won will be even older and whiter in 2020. They might just vote for him again if he runs. Its really hard to say. If he keeps pushing a cultural agenda that is pro gun, anti immigration, pro faith he could pull it off. Policy comes in second in many cases. I work with a bunch of Trump voters who absolutely hate him, they don't like what he says or does but they vote for him because they prefer who he would put on the Supreme Court over a democrat. If that's your sole goal, then you don't care who the messenger is but what letter follows it. Nate Silver and his group over at 538 are discussing this today.

Then there's only one thing left to do, now isn't there? It's time the general public frog marched a president out of the house, in chains.

Its funny how the left goes from not finishing out the year, to not making it half way to now he might finish out his full term.

They just keep moving those goal posts around.

But there is no chance he could win re-election.

    lol.

    Until he does.

Then they will have to find a new Russia to blame.

In politics anyone can win at any time if the circumstances are right. If the economy stays fine that is always the number one concern for the American voter and that will be a huge advantage for Trump.
