I can see how it could be used for gender reveal... Just stand too close when you fire.

When I typed in "uses for tannerite" I got multiple hits for variations of rifle target and that's all on the first page.

Like I said... Given that a cylinder of chalk would serve the same purpose for target shooting, at a fraction the cost and safety risk, I'm hard-pressed to justify the legality of tannerite.

But I had to pursue this gender reveal thing. What that is, why you have a kid you get some tannerite mixed up and put pink or blue dye powder around it and shoot it off to let your neighbors know if it's a boy or a girl.

I kid you not. There are multiple YouTube videos showing this in great detail.
    Thanks from Blueneck

You're not saying that you're for outlawing corn fertilizer or aluminum, are you?

If corn fertilizer or aluminum have no function other than to explode violently when shot at, then yes - that's exactly what I'm saying.

Here's the difference with making fertilizer bombs, you don't buy it in one kit. In addition, if you purchase a crapload of fertilizer, you better be a farmer.

My point was that these chemicals do have legitimate functions. Many chemicals that have legitimate functions can be dangerous when used improperly, and we can't simply outlaw every damned thing that might create risk.
    Thanks from Djinn

But tannerite has no useful function that can't be fulfilled more cheaply and safely.
