Here is Beyonce' singing the Star Spangled Banner at Obama's inauguration. The Obama's did not appear to be offended. I think this is more of the usual outrage for attention.

    This is my favorite rendition.

Of course, she was one of the most talented singers ever so she's able to sing it well. Most people can't.

No one on any form of U.S. currency raised arms against the United States military.

Anyone who feels that their culture and heritage is being threatened by society ending the celebration of slavery needs to engage in some serious introspection regarding the nature of their culture and heritage.

The 5 crowds didn't have a problem singing the 'hard' song - I see no need to change it.

No, its our song. But America the Beautiful or God Bless America would be a better one, more peaceful

Those two would never work...they have the word God in them. This would set off another wave of outrage. I am still looking for the verses the NAACP is offended about with the Star Spangled Banner. That particular part of the Anthem is never included when sung.

The Star-Spangled Banner is an awful song. I refuse to sing it. The only thing it is good for is to run to the bathroom right before the game starts if you are at the ball park. I generally record games at home so I don't have to listen to this pathetic song.

I'm certain some had not considered that fact, when wanting to switch out the song for another.

    Thanks for the post.
