Because she's an elected constitutional officer. You don't just fire them because you are pissed. You vote them out of office.

You lose. her ass should be sued for every penny this bs is costing the taxpayer, and she should have been fired long time ago.
I lose? Talk about an ignorant post demonstrating no grasp on reality. Is she having to pay anything? Has she been fired? No and no... Oops, that post looks pretty stupid.

Isn't it amazing? You know she won her current position as a Democrat? It's a strong Democrat county. Interesting, isn't it?

Too bad you don't live in Kentucky, because then you might even have a REAL reason to be so upset.

    Here
While others can fill in for an absent County Clerk to issue marriage licenses, I'm not sure, where in the following, it states that County Clerks have the right to refuse to do what they were elected to do, without facing a consequence. I would also be interested to know under what basis any taxpayers must pay to defend the County Clerk for NOT performing the duties to which she was elected to perform. Her NOT performing her duties was NOT based on a state requirement to refuse to perform her duties, but her personal (not state - unless there is a state stature against ssm) beliefs. Because the state Constitution and law banned same sex marriage, it is for this reason the state is paying to defend Kim Davis. Through her, it appears they are trying their state laws against the federal law.

As already mentioned, they are likely to lose, both in court and in the long run, as a state.

The following also describes what elected officials can be removed for and how.

I don't care if she ran as a squirrel. The people of Kentucky (those that voted for Trump, those that will vote for this idiot again), and those people that will vote for Moore in Alabama are just down right dumb.

But she wasn't removed. She sued using her office, in her official capacity, and the state didn't stop her. It's on Kentucky.

I've lived in Kentucky for an extended period, and while I moved partly because I didn't want to rear my children in that culture, your continued insulting remarks aren't helpful. It's not like you're going to get them expelled from the Union. They are our countrymen, period.
    Thanks from MaryAnne and bajisima
