As for now, it is required in Michigan to hold a special election to fill his seat.
But there is a Republican Governor in Michigan who could replac3 Conyers until the next election. Not sure what the law is there

    Congress is like that.

    Neverending.

    Ongoing.

Completely corrupt and that's just the way they like it.

The new Congress Critter will probably be just as bad.

Especially if it's one of his relatives...

He was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama. After he was removed from office for violating the law, he was subsequently reelected to the same position. Then he was yet again removed from office for violating the law.

If you think that Republicans won't elect him simply because he committed multiple acts of pedophilia, then you just don't understand modern Republicans.

The Constitution does not permit a governor to replace a Representative during a vacancy. Only for the Senate is this permissible, as state law provides, until a special election can be held to fill out the original term. For a Representative, the vacancy can only be filled by a special election for the remainder of the term.
    Thanks from NightSwimmer
