    I don't think you are a traitor.

And, putting party, aka the swamp, over Country, is exactly what lil' Jeff snowFlake is doing.

Actually, he's just picking up his toys and going home because he knows "the Country", aka the American voters, are sick of big government progressives like him, aka swamp critters and there is no chance in hell of him getting re-elected.

    Drain the swap.

Oh yeah, he's still the same old asshole Republican he always was. He's just not an asshole Republican who's willing to kiss up to a batshit insane pedophile in order to hold on to a single Senate seat that could be lost to the Democrats.

This act doesn't make him a hero. It merely highlights just how far down the rabbit hole his chosen political party has gone in the past couple of years.

The "Party over Country" Roy Moore defenders swarming this board right now are going to point at how this is an example of why it's a good thing that Flake isn't running again. I'd counter that this is an example of the kind of people needed in public office. Those not afraid to do what's right even when it goes against their own party.
Somebody thinking about running in 2020?

Who is "we"? Does that "we" include Roy Moore and his 14 year old girlfriend?

I don't hate the man, but I certainly don't view him as a hero. He's just another run-of-the-mill Republican.

Unfortunately for him, that renders him inadequately extremist for the Party of Trump.

Trump will definately be the first President in a long time to have active challengers in the primaries.

Hell, there may be more GOP candidates running in 2020 than ran in 2016.

Would be surprised to see Trump even run in 2020.

He won the prize. He can retire "on his own terms" and go home with a perfect election record. Would seem to suit his grand ego.

Yup and he has the "anti Trump" nod as well. Prior to Trump many of these politicians wouldnt have been given the time of day but suddenly Flake, Corker, Collins and McCain seem to be heroes. Even though if you look hard enough they vote with Trump 99% of the time.
