I don't think it backfired. The commercial was preaching to the choir. The rest didn't care.

Way to get right down in the gutter with Trump. They must all be so proud.
oh yes.. in the current state of the union, with the current administration we're having.. the word "shithole" on a news screen is what will scar our children...

except, it wasn't just accurately quoting someone. It was also commentary. With one guy going on a profanity laced rant repeatedly using the term, the networks claimed was unacceptable. I ask again. If it's so awful for Trump to use the term, why did they have it plastered up on the screen all day, while they repeatedly obsessed about Trump? Joy Reid, who I love, admitted after her show that she had kids watching. Maddow was the only one that warned her audience that she was going to use profanity. On CNN they had this one guy that went on about a 5 minute profanity laced rant. At that point, yes, I did turn it off. I don't have kids watching. So, I tolerated it for as long as I could before that.

But they were much worse. Those Access Hollywood tapes had worst language about women and they didnt care. Now he calls countries names that probably their parents use.

She and they want a Grand Dragon, not a President.

can we please just knock off the bullshit? No one said anything about scaring our children. Where do you see that argument? You know damned well what I'm talking about. So please, again, just knock off the bullshit. That's not the kind of language we want our kids using. Why are you coming at me as if you really don't understand that?
    Thanks from pragmatic

Then itís time to admit those people are rascists sympathizers. Iím sick and tired of this argument that what Trump does has to be downplayed because calling out what he is will turn his base more for him. Please donít tell me to shut up because the bigots will band together. ITS TIME FOR ALL GOOD PEOPLE TO BAND TOGETHER AND TURF THE BIGOTS FROM POWER.
