    Indeed.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estima...uns_per_capita

Also, the U.S. is 11th for total guns; 18th for homicides; 2nd for suicides; 12th for accidents; 29th for unintentional death; 1st for guns per inhabitant; and 46th for firearm-related deaths per gun per year.

All that said, while I actually favor concealed-carry reciprocity, I am not sure it is (or is not) constitutional for Congress to pass a law making it so.

Some people seem to only have one half of a functioning brain.
Is that what YOU would do if you had a gun? Look for an excuse to use it? Weird. That's not been the general experience.

More people have died from overdoses on each of heroin, fentanyl and oxycodone in each of the last few years than from gun homicide. That's over 3 times as many from those three narcotics. But some folks think regulating law abiding gun owners is more important, and NO ONE is seriously saying it'll affect crime. Except idiots who expect criminals to try to follow gun laws...

I actually wouldn't have a problem with such a law if it provided some reasonable national minimum requirements for licensing........and a magazine capacity limit of ten rounds.

One problem with the quoted article is that it ignores the states where no permit is even required for concealed carry already:
    Alaska
    Arizona
    Arkansas
    Idaho
    Kansas
    Maine
    Mississippi
    Missouri
    New Hampshire
    North Dakota
    Vermont
    West Virginia
    Wyoming
And it ignores the fact that those states already have very low rates of gun violence.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._homicide_rate
And it ignores the fact that the 42 states that have passed "shall issue" carry permitting have had DECREASES in violent crime.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-to-carry_law
And it ignores the fact that people who acquire concealed carry permits are extraordinarily law abiding.
    https://crimeresearch.org/2015/02/cp...-even-more-so/
Strangely it seems that the states with the strictest gun control have the higher rates of gun violence. Weird, huh?
And the biggest problem with the absurd notion that making concealed carry permits reciprocal would somehow increase gun violence is the assumption that violent CRIMINALS are in any way restrained by their lack of carry permits. Seriously, you have to be incredibly dense to believe that.

Luckily you have no influence regarding this issue.

Suicide and homicide are two different things ... it is comparing apples and oranges.
