Should There Be a Change In School Fire Alarm Procedures?

We understand that the shooter in Florida pulled the Fire Alarm which automatically sent students from a protective stance in their classroom

In recent memory, I can not recall one student killed in a school fire.

Should we re-examine the Fire Drill Process where students all file out of the class room to move en masse out of the building?

Should schools have a hold in place...until verify if there is school initiated Fire Drill or a real threat to student safety from fire or other disaster?

If we can't stop mass killings, maybe we can keep kids out of the killing zone for as long as possible.

    What say you

Boy I don't know. Americans love a good occasional mass shooting. I know! How about a "Mass Shooting of the Month" event! Hold one a month, have all the media outlets there. Hold it prime time, you know, kind of like the Super Bowl. Advertisers would love it! Beer sales through the roof! T Shirts. Family get-togethers. Won't leave Las Vegas out of it either - take bets on how many kills and survivors are left. The possibilities are endless! One a month - since we average more than that anyway. Hey, a few motherfuckers will have to be sacrificed, but so what? Make the maximum kill 30, so 30 X 12 is what, 360? If that will satisfy America's taste for mass shootings, that's a small price to pay, schools will be safer, gun hardasses will pop a woody, random killings will plummet to record lows. It's a win win!

No. There should be a change in laws and attitudes about guns. Stronger gun laws would be a start. Connecting mental illness records with gun purchasing records is a start. Not allowing people on the no-fly list from buying guns is a start.

If we'd invested half the money we've spent on designing, testing, building, marketing, and selling guns and ammo into mental health care we'd still have enough fire power left over to kill every person whose ever lived 7 times AND the people who are seriously mentally ill wouldn't be a threat to anyone.
