A ban isn’t going to protect our schools. Locking down the schools and arming select district employees will save lives.

Would that have helped in Orlando or Vegas? Yes? No? Maybe? Since not a one of those had a fucking thing to do with schools, now did they?

My daughterís school increased the police presence from one local police department officer to two officers and two deputies from the sheriffís office. They are just carrying sidearms but they might have additional firepower in the cars which are parked very conveniently out front. I think someone would have to be pretty stupid to try something with four cars spaced across the front. Increased presence is a good thing.

Her little sister goes to the new elementary school. That school is new and pretty secure already. I didnít notice any additional police there this morning when I dropped her off. Just one deputy directing traffic and the DARE officer greeting kids out front like usual.

But only a small percentage of mass murders are school shootings, and you cant put armed guards at every street corner in America, something else, something less fucking stupid, needs to be done, but you don't want that, all I am hearing from you is we have to put up with these mass shootings because Freedumb.

But I thought the reason the left was suddenly demanding a gun ban was the dead kids.

schools in my county now have deputies with AR15s slung across their chest greeting kids. Because you want to keep selling AR15s with high capacity magazines to minors.

You really do need to reconsider the gun policies that you support.

My way will eventually make schools safer. Unfortunately, because things were done your way all this time there are a bunch of assault weapons out there so in the meantime we have to figure out how to protect the kids now. But as others have pointed out, because you insisted these weapons had to be legal for civilians, every other public venue is vulnerable. But we'll start the ban on those weapons now so future generations are safer. The era of the gun fetish is over.

We can only hope. Too many Americans still think they have to be able to fight their own government....

If over 500 dead and wounded in Vegas didn't bother you, why would 17 make a ripple on your indifference?

The number would actually be far higher because the AR-15 is but one weapon on a list that the left wants to ban. Is this the issue that the Democrats are willing to make the 2018 elections about? Banning the AR-15 and other "assault weapons"? They need something beyond, they are not Trump.
How was the 1986 ban on fully automatic weapons perceived by the general public? They were banned in 1986 and no one confiscated the fully automatics because they were grandfathered in with heavy regulation. How many mass shootings with machine guns have we seen since? The same thing can be done for semi automatics, the number of them will reduce and they will become priced above what most people can afford. I realize that the 80's were different times, we didn't have foaming at the mouth gun fools screeching at the top of their lungs like we do now..but to say that the government will confiscate guns is absurd when the US has already banned a automatic weapon in the past.
