Right NOW, Russia indeed presents the most serious threat to America.

But NOT in the long run, which is what Mr. Obama was trying to point out.

In the long run, Russia is not a serious threat to American hegemony in the world.

Russia is actually a declining power. Paradoxically, this is what makes them more dangerous in the short run, as dying empires have a tendency to LASH OUT.

In the medium to longer run, over the course of two to five to seven decades, there is only one country in the world that presents a serious threat to American economic, technological, scientific, and military supremacy on this planet.

Do you know what country that is, SD?

Well a lot of Russians are fearful of him due to his poisonings, assassinations etc so they are unlikely to speak out or stand against him. So its basically the West against him. But he had long figured out if he divides us and sows seeds of mistrust and hate, he can continue winning and scaring people. You cross him, you get polonium in your tea, that kind of thing. Kind of a super extreme brutal dictator like we havent seen in decades. But his social media image is this superstar, happy, virulent "good guy." He really has manipulated that image so its not surprising he is manipulating the world now.

Yes, makes perfect sense. AFTER he got the man he wanted into the Oval Office, he wanted to create EVEN MORE disruption in America.

He is NOT a friend of America.

    Are you getting that yet??

YOU have concluded that our intelligence agencies are composed of incompetent buffoons. Apparently.
I do think though, with Hillary as the opponent, Putin would likely have supported anyone else whether it had been Kasich, Bush, Rubio etc. Recall a Sanders associate and Jill Stein had dined with Putin and Flynn in 2015 so its also likely had Sanders won the nomination, he would have favored him. Maybe more so than Trump, since Bernie had spent a lot of time in the former USSR.

Thats probably true, but they also have a history of supporting tyranny. Add intelligence and a nationalist ideology to the mix, and you have a russian messiah.
I did see some videos of election fraud but i bet he would have still won anyways. No way fraud counted for 30 or 40 percent of the vote. lol.. then again... its russia.

"our intelligence agencies" yea, they never get anything wrong or lie do they? LOL
I've been TRYING to explain that 'whole picture' to you throughout this entire thread. Are you even listening??

I'm sure that the country you are thinking is China. But I am not sure that you have the world view to really see all the threats this country faces. Russia is not a third world country that can be taken lightly. There are many threats to the United States. While we are indeed a super power there are other countries that wield significant power in the world.

Putin would NOT have been happy to see anti-Russia hawk Marco Rubio as the GOP candidate! If it had been Rubio vs Hillary, Putin might have decided not to meddle at all, not liking either candidate. If it had been Bernie vs Trump, Putin might have been happy with either candidate winning, and again might have decided not to meddle. In the case that actually took place, he had a definite preference.

No doubt, but China is the only PLAUSIBLE challenger to the United States as THE superpower of the world. The Wall Street Journal a few weeks ago had a major insert on how China is pumping tens of billions of dollars into artificial intelligence, supercomputers, and etc., and has a definite plan to dominate these fields of technology by the year 2030. This is a Sputnik moment for America. I am out of time for now; perhaps more on this later.
