It's illegal to discharge a BB gun in Chicago, even in your own back yard.

My question here, is would the number of people injured and killed be about the same if the shooter had used a semi auto handgun instead of an AR 15?
    The best of both worlds:

but you are correct, you are no gun expert.
Effective range? What do you think the velocity would be at over a mile out? I would like to make so friendly wagers on effectiveness at 1900 yards.

Take that back, I would like to make some serious and significant wagers on 9mm effectiveness 1900 yards out.

I couldn't even find a chart for it.

    Thanks from aboutenough

Sniper...living in a society that helped him arrive at the conclusion that this was an acceptable act. And get to gain lots of post mortem notoriety, thanx to our generous media.

Shorter range is a pretty obvious drawback to handguns.
Not in a school shooting where victims are at close range.

It's a combination of the barrel, the grains per round and the round itself. Not to mention the ability of said shooter

Because he was acting as a sniper

The issue is too difficult for the people that think morality is relative to deal with...so you all have to blame guns and punish people that had nothing t do with the act itself

20 rounds per victim, shows the AR15 was a poor choice.
