Really. Perhaps you can point out where you countered my contention that on the national level, there have been 8 Special Elections, and only 2 resulted in a party shift, and that on the local and state level, there have been 98 Special Elections in 2017, resulting in a net shift of 11 seats.
I didn't. I did point out why the trends still show a strong lean toward Dems. If your used to beating a tram by 10 runs and you start winning only by one or two, that's a significant shift in your fortunes, even if it doesn't show up (yet) in the standings. Predictions for future performance are often based on such analysis.

If Dems can find Conor Lambs in districts Trump won by less than 20 points, they can be quite successful in the fall.

    Mr. Rasselas,

Thank you for admitting your red herring. I introduce subject A. You counter with subject B, which is only slightly related to subject A, the run with subject B as the subject of debate.

No, you introduce a subject. I counter with a different view of that subject. Just because you focus your light on one corner of the room doesn't mean the rest of the room disappears.

Thanks for cherry picking the facts you like and pretending the facts you don't like aren't important.

    Mr. Rasselas,

Exactly, I countered the subject of the OP, i.e., "the fact that in about 50 special elections around this country all but 4 were thrown out by democrats," by saying "on the national level, there have been 8 Special Elections, and only 2 resulted in a party shift, and that on the local and state level, there have been 98 Special Elections in 2017, resulting in a net shift of 11 seats."

You then went off subject and then debated a theme not in discussion.

Like I said, while I appreciate your red herring, do you have a counter to my debate?

    Mr. bander,

    Hmmm,

"we could not verify Lewandowski’s exact figure because he is counting small municipal elections, which can be hard to track."

"Adding those races to the highest number of state-level wins brings our verified total to at least 39 flipped seats for Democrats."

But since most of those are offices like city councilperson, city treasurer, or dog catcher, does that really mean anything?

Because it isn't true , you may want it to be true but you can't have that, the information is available to more people then you, which then makes your comment ridiculous.
