He kind of has to take that stance. Otherwise, how does it look for him that he sat on his story for a year and told it in a way that he personally profited from?

I presume that's why you are partial to Rasmussen.

It sounds to me like Comeys message should be generally compatible with Trump supporters too. He thinks we should get out and vote. Then he believes that the result will be the will of the people.

While he personally believes Trump is morally unfit, he doesn't believe in impeaching him because that would violate the electoral process and be disenfranchise the will of the people.

Anyway, so long as Trump is not actually charged with a crime, I see him running again in the next election, and the citizens will again make their intentions known.

Or maybe that's what he actually believes.

OK I can buy that. Because if he believed otherwise, then he wouldn't (or at least, shouldn't) have waited a year to tell his story.

The official propaganda arm of the RNC says so, but Gallup and Fivethirtyeight have him at ~40% and the RealClearPolitics aggregate is at 42.5%.

    Check the trend.

Trump's last 51% day came back in Apr 24th of 2017

Donald Trump is enjoying some bombing bump.

Donald Trump has constantly trended lower than most Presidents of the modern era. A few days at 51% is meaningless.

Donald Trump has not strung together a complete week at 51% ever. Not once in 65 weeks as President.

Choose any poll you like. None are good.

Not even Rasmussen's poll is not even good for Trump.
