Just like when we were allowed to vote and join the army.

BFD. The kids already know this, but us old farts have gotta be drug kicking and screaming, just like the generations before us that we used to complain about before Millennial bashing became our new national pastime.
Has to be some rite of passage ingrained in our DNA. When we turn 40 or so we turn into everything we swore we never would. Now get off my lawn!!!!

Our dorms were coed as well and there was a whole lot of hanky panky going down! But because we didnt have single sex dorms, I dont know if that was the norm then too?

Probably. My room mate was quite amorous and she did not care who was awake or in the room. We had a loft build for our room and made a living room underneath it. You never knew who was up there unless the loft started banging against the wall. LOL I got an apartment after my freshman year because I was not used to such stuff. I had issues sharing a bathroom since I was raised as a only child. Sister is much older than me. LOL

Haha we did that too, so I slept like 12 inches from the ceiling. Good thing there was never a fire.

I was a leader in a program called Royal Rangers for years. It was a Christian Boys program like scouts. They tossed the idea around about having girls in the program and we figured it would be a full time job watching the tents during the night. I think boys and girls together is great, but just not camp outs together

No, more like part of the leaders from BSA that made this dumb decision.

The one downside to this I could envision, is there will be parents out there who will refuse to let their 6 year old girl or boy join because its co-ed. See an awful lot of helicopter parents who want their girl to be "girlie" and their boy to be tough. I know its changing, but there are still quite a few out there. Then the kiddos would lose out being able to join.

It's not going to be "co-ed". They will have the boys and girls in separate groups. They'll all come together for events like the pinewood derby, but I'm fairly confident that they won't do co-ed camping.
    Thanks from HCProf

You're taking all the FUN out of it! I'm almost 63, but I was thinking about rejoining the Boy Scouts when I heard about this co-ed thing! But if the co-ed camping is not gonna happen, then what's the point?!?
    Thanks from NightSwimmer and bajisima
