Then more dancing, a black choir sings along, he grabs an AR and kills them all, then everyone keeps dancing and singing and having a great time. Not sure how you missed the point but remedial courses are available at your local community college if you were not taught to pay attention.
Which reminds me of "all she wants to do is dance" back in the eighties.

But they did that with the lyrics. This video won't be ingrained in anyone's head and no one will remember the song because it's not connected to the video in any way other than the contrast. It's a fine message, but it shouldn't be limited to the visual part.

On the original video, it hit the mark on what it was intended to do. Everyone talked about it.

Unless anyone understands the protests by black parents and children in fear of more lost lives, I doubt that they can understand this video. It is not specifically made to be understood by anyone who thinks Colin Kaepernick was about hating the flag and military, or BLM is violent thugs who hate America.

    It isn't.
It speaks to black fears of today's America.
Choir members being gunned down? Remember the mass shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC? White supremacist Dylann Roof murdered nine people there.

Here's an article that was helpful. Childish Gambino?s ?This Is America? Exposes an Expat?s Fear: Opinion ? Variety
Someone may have reported it. The good thing is they opened it.

I'd have probably wanted a warning around it when I was modding -- it's rather graphic. That'd be my only concern/caveat.

I was pretty sure I understood your point but my eyes kept hanging up on that word.

It improved. Hip hop went through a very lame stage, with musically boring acts like Kanye West, whose only real talents lay in self-promotion. They'd slant-rhyme a bunch of brand names for high-end consumer goods, boast about how awesome they are, all over a tune borrowed from Ray Charles or some other superior musician, and call it a song. It was crass, shallow materialism in a shiny, dance-able package. But there's some hope for the genre when you see it coming out with more musically interesting and thematically challenging material like that. I love how this particular song so mercilessly parodies and dissects the shallow conventions of that prior era of fluff hip-hop ("I'm on Gucci... I'm so pretty... America, I just checked my following list, and—You gon' tell somebody—you mothafuckas owe me..... Get your money, Black man.") And the emptiness of that lyric tradition is emphasized with the discordant music and the jarring contrast in the visuals, of dancing figures and minstrel poses, on the one hand, and cold-blooded violence on the other. That's a video that people will be talking about for decades to come.
