    Bajisima,

Actually, no. California is by far the biggest welfare state. Next, is New York. Texas, which has a bigger population than New York, has less caseloads.

It is so blatant and ridiculous that I can only muster utter contempt for the lot of them.
    Vote buying?

You mean like the promise of other people's money if they vote democrat?

Benjamin Franklin did. He said if you were unwilling to pay your club dues (i.e., your taxes), you should go dwell amongst the savages. Savages don't pay taxes. Of course, they don't have civilization, either. That's the trade-off. Seems like it might be the trade-off that you'd prefer, though.

If you are claiming that half the people in the US pay no taxes, you would be quite, quite wrong.

half the country doesnt pay federal taxes.
Everyone pays local taxes though. Like sales tax. I assume that is what you were referring to. Which is laughable. Even foreigners visiting for a week pay those taxes

It's also wrong to claim half the country doesn't pay federal taxes. Social Security taxes and Medicare taxes ARE federal taxes, you know. So is the gasoline tax.
