So, the money to fill that shortfall comes from somewhere and that somewhere is always the poor and the disabled especially the GOP. Even though most paid into the system their whole lives and are ENTITLED to be treated fairly, your heroes don't care about any of that. Watch how much that tax CUT you got ends up costing you and those in your family. I'm still trying to make sense of your post. LOL
    Mr. namvet,

They did not get a windfall, just didn't have quite as much stolen from them.

And given that the poor pay nothing into the system, how are they supposed to fill that shortfall you are talking about?

Are you dumb or something? ALL of your links about federal INCOME taxes. I well understand that about 45% of adult Americans do not pay federal INCOME taxes. But guess what: the federal income tax was NEVER intended to apply to all wage-earners. NEVER. When it was first introduced, in fact, it applied to LESS than 5% of the wage-earners in the country: the TOP 5%, naturally. So, in FACT, it has been greatly EXPANDED over time.

But I wasn't even TALKING about INCOME taxes. I was talking about Social Security taxes, Medicare taxes, gasoline taxes. ALL of which are federal taxes, and you would have to search pretty long and hard to find a large number of adult Americans who don't pay any of those. Shrug.
    Thanks from Ian Jeffrey

Marie Antoinette is not smiling, least of all smiling down. She is roasting in Hell. Which is also the likely destination of Donald Trump and Paul Ryan.

Where do you think that money comes from? Do you think it grows on trees somewhere?

    Mr. Leroy,

We were talking about federal income taxes. Please read the top post and get back to use with an apology.

    Mr. Leroy,

Liberals do. Think money grows on trees, that is.

Me, I know my money comes from my hard work.

You're having trouble following the thread, Kallie. In the OP, my friend namvet69 is talking about how the GOP is talking about cutting SNAP benefits and the CHIP program, because their tax cuts for billionaires have blown a sky-high hole in the budget deficit.

And then, in post #19, on the second page of this thread, I wrote this:

It's also wrong to claim half the country doesn't pay federal taxes. Social Security taxes and Medicare taxes ARE federal taxes, you know. So is the gasoline tax.

Where, quite CLEARLY, I was talking about taxes OTHER THAN income taxes. This was BEFORE you went off on your irrelevant rant about Americans not paying income taxes.

Could we please ask you to pay more attention in the future, so that you don't divert threads into useless channels like this?

No, silly. Liberals do NOT think money grows on trees. And it's clear you DON'T understand where money comes from. Your hard work creates money? So, say you're digging a hole in your back yard, sweating away some summer afternoon, and you find some buried treasure or something? Just like that?

I'm asking you, again: WHERE does the money come from? WHERE is it created? And by WHOM?
