They've got their money and so the war on the poor begins.

The GOP gave themselves a giant gift of our money and now the paying for it begins. Didn't take long for the cruel assault on the powerless to begin. Proposed cuts to SNAP (food stamps) and CHIP (children's health insurance program) are under way.

After all, they've gotta get revenue from somewhere to make up for the bonanza they just voted for themselves. It's expected and it is just the beginning.

How anyone can't see what this GOP is about or who they care for and who they consider expendable is astonishing to me.

What are your thoughts on this situation? Are lower corporate taxes and a huge bonus to themselves worth throwing the working poor and disabled to the wolves? Because that's what they plan to do and it's already begun. There is no limit to their brazen greed and their abject cruelty.

You have it right, but these right wingers will not admit it. No matter how many times they get fucked, they always ask for another.

I'm appalled by such blatant vote buying when our nations have so many internal problems. To appeal to the selfishness of the electorate is so base when medical services and education are in such a neglected state.

The conservatives in Australia are about to roll out tax cuts while Medicare has been sabotaged by repeated funding cuts. Now the left in opposition are trying 'out cut the tax cuts' by offering even higher reductions if they gain office.

It is so blatant and ridiculous that I can only muster utter contempt for the lot of them.

The Republican diagnosis of what ails the American economy has always been the same, ever since the days of Reagan: the rich aren't rich enough, and the poor aren't poor enough. And they're DETERMINED to fix that!

They'll have us looking like Brazil in NO time!

    Mr. Namvet,

LOL, only in the liberal mind is the government taking part of someone's earnings, "our" money.

Yet the poorest of the poor are normally in red states and they are getting redder. Cant find the link but someone else posted it after last years election. Claimed 80% of welfare recipients are republicans. If thats true thats absolutely astonishing. I can say here in NH that is probably close to accurate.

They need to defund the whole thing. Both of them.
Thats a state thing, not a Federal.
HOWEVER, there are better things to cut..
