Can't wait for this Trump Nightmare to be over!
Does it make any difference that The Great Return March and "protests" have been going on since the end of March, not just since yesterday?

Not use live ammunition, for starters. Then maybe treat them like they have ligitimate complaints instead of the "we won, you lost, my way or they highway" (except they have no where to go) approach.

Tough to accomplish when your opponents want you dead.

What sort of ammunition would you recommend instead? Paintballs?

And the “legitimate complaints” approach only works if you are willing to negotiate WITHOUT demanding the dissolution of Israel.

    That's such a stringent precondition!

Paintballs - now thats an idea.

    Tear gas?

Truth and reconciliation was mentioned on another thread in a different context - that might be a place to begin.

So far killing the opponents hasnt resolved the problem, has it.

Maybe Israelis could just stop poking their opponents in the eye with a stick.

If you think about it, Israel is using quite a bit of restraint considering the long history of violence from Palestine. They could easily end this conflict today with air strikes and drone strikes.

Paintballs can be stopped by ... virtually anything. A plastic trashcan lid is more than enough. Wind speed and direction make tear gas unusable against tens of thousands of people. Truth and reconciliation isn't a bad idea. Israel has proposed a few peace deals over the years. Perhaps it's the Palestinians' turn to draft their very first peace attempt.

Of course, it couldn't include "right-of-return," for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
Thanks from Wonderer and Ian Jeffrey
