They are not confined to any ghetto.

Besides, what you are talking about here is the eradication of Israel, and that is not an option.

No, it is actually a single city, and there is no "illegal occupation."

Yes. When you blame someone for "invit[ing] a violent response," you are taking responsibility away from the violent people and giving it to the non-violent ones.

    So to clarify:

You do or do not support the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem...??

I'm just a simple country boy, so my position on Israel is quite simple. Israel has been and continues to be our best, if not our only ally in the middle east, so we have an obligation to have their backs and do what is perceived best for them. Israel has the right to exist and we must be there to assure their continued existence.

Our ONLY ally in the Middle East? Turkey is no longer a member of NATO? When did THAT happen?

And here I thought Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, were all considered to be allies of the United States. We certainly give Egypt large chunks of foreign aid almost every year........Saudi Arabia was the very FIRST country that President Trump visited!

Why do you suppose THAT was, if they are not our ally?

I understand that they are perceived to be allies and we treat them as such. But I'm not sure "when the rubber meets the road" that they will act as allies. Israel has been on the road with us at times. That is, from my perspective, Israel is a proven ally.

The vast majority of that land was ceded by Israel after just a few years. All it took was a peace treaty or two.

They still hold the Golan Heights and the West Bank. I suppose you can accurately say they ceded the 'vast majority' of it, since the Sinai Peninsula was indeed much the larger area involved----but it is mostly a wasteland......

It's one city broken into two pieces, thanks to Israel's illegal occupation. If the US was going to recognize the Israeli capital, it ought to have recognized it as being West Jerusalem, while simultaneously recognizing East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

Do you think something I said implied that?
Sure, any Palestinian who can show he or she was living there prior to 1948 can return with full voting rights. The others can emigrate in accord with Israeli law.

Yep. They proved what great allies they were back during the Six-Day War.

The Sinai Peninsula is a wasteland, but the coastline is invaluable for trade.

The Golan Heights is another matter. I’m not aware that Syria has ever wanted it back so badly they’d stoop to signing a peace treaty with Israel.

Am I wrong to read that in my head with a “Foghorn Leghorn” accent?
