this is why elections matter. Utter BS that the government showed hostility towards the baker. The court was just trying to find a way to rule in the bakers favor. But they just couldn't outright declare that all bakers are allowed to discriminate. It's just this one baker in just this one instance.

    Cowards.

    It's directly limited:

The ruling, written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, is not the wide-ranging ruling on religious liberty that some expected. It is tailored to the case at hand with the justices holding that members of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission showed animus toward Phillips specifically when they suggested his claims of religious freedom was made to justify discrimination.

How is this even legal!? I didn't read anything about it other than this, but I am heart sick. Are people going to start putting signs in their windows, saying who all they refuse to serve?
    Thanks from the watchman

Apparently they considered him an "artist." Not just an ordinary baker. I was shocked to see it was a 7-2 decision.

myself, I actually would prefer to know if they have a problem with who I am. That way I can go somewhere else.

They really took issue as to how the baker had "religious animosity" towards him. Said someone with sincere religious expression shouldnt be discriminated against.

I'm sure there will be quite the uproar about this decision.

One thing I recall during the oral argument was several of the justices asking "what is an artist?" One of them even asked is a sandwich maker at Subway is an artist. I do think there will be many types of jobs where this will find its way to the SC again. Even software engineers sometimes are called "artists." It could be a very broad term.

I just NEVER got this. So you put 2 grooms on top? Or 2 male names? WTF is the big deal? You know, if they asked for 2 penises or 2 vaginas interlocked in a cake shape with frosting, even I might take umbrage but what even triggered this?

(I also readily admit, I DON'T CARE! Except what a waste of the highest court in the land when you have little kids LANGUISHING at our border).
