It is now known that the FBI / DoJ had spies in the Trump campaign prior to the Papadopoulos event. Stefan Halper was inserted prior to the Papadopoulos event, which in and of itself is very sketchy for the FBI / DoJ.

Why didn't they notify the Trump campaign of their issues with Carter Page or Manafort? Nope. They put in a spy and started tapping phones and unmasking Trump campaign staff.

With the Clinton investigation it was all above the boards. No spies, no wire tapping, no early morning raids, no attacks on staff that they thought were not lying after they bankrupt them with legal attacks.

    The two are very different.
    They did.

Great... Too bad you lack the debate muscles to be able to make the argument that would prove me wrong.

Do you really see the both as equivalent? If so can you elaborate on why?

Any person can be principled. To fain 'conservatism' is a special con.

Even those so-called conservatives who speak against Trump still hold views that are deplorable. Even popular and liked conservatives like McCain and Flake...if given carte blance would run programs contrary to the wishes of a majority of the American people.

McCain and Flake are still Republicans.
I've always thought McCain got too much of a free ride from the media outlets. They mistook his blunt, military-style rhetoric for honesty. In reality, I think he was pretty much devoid of actual principles, other than his personal ambition. I don't think it's a coincidence that, like GW Bush, he abandoned the "faith of his father" for a more politically viable religion when he set his sights on the presidency. He knew he needed the vote of the evangelicals, and that was going to be easier if he was a Baptist. He also effectively abandoned his signature policy, campaign finance reform, once the GOP aligned against it. McCain's political strategy is to use a handful of rogue votes when the spotlight is on, to keep up his unearned media reputation as a maverick, but then to turn around and go the other way more quietly, once the cameras are elsewhere. So, for example, he did his little star turn voting against Obamacare repeal, but then voted for a tax cut that effectively cut the legs out from under Obamacare. I'm bracing myself for the hagiography when he dies, but I'll never forget he's the same guy who made a joke making fun of a teenaged Chelsea Clinton's looks, and the guy who tried to put Sarah Palin a heartbeat from the presidency.

I like the fact you capitalized that phrase. In the legal world, we use capitals like that in a contract or pleading to indicate that we're using a defined term, especially when the definition isn't necessarily what the common meaning would be. And that's kind of how "Russian Collusion" is meant by Trump apologists. As you and I and everyone else knows, the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. Three top campaign officials met secretly with Kremlin agents for the express purpose of getting the Russian government's help in defeating Clinton. But while that may have been clear "Russian collusion," it may not be "Russian Collusion," if we're using that phrase as a defined term to mean only a particular kind of collusion -- say criminal collaboration directly between candidate Trump and Vladimir Putin to hack election machines, or something like that.

    The two are very different.
Agreed. The Republican-headed FBI leaked every bit of anti-Clinton speculation and personal opinion to damage her campaign, while very carefully making sure negative information about the Trump campaign's ties with Moscow were kept quiet until after the campaign.
