There were two members here that were communists when I joined. lol I actually miss them both were incredibly smart, I would love to hear their take nowadays.

Trump is acting as Putin's agent every day he sits in the WH and destroying our country from within.

Nothing is more important to the suvival of our nation and way of life....free press...general welfare, laws, etc....than taking back our country and reclaiming the institutions that Trump/Putin are tearing down daily.

Really? I've known some people who wished that the staff would make it more left-leaning than it is but I've never known anyone who truly thought this place was ever right-leaning.

Are you sure you're not confusing it with another forum?

Have I somehow given you the impression I am suffering from dementia?

That's a pretty specific diagnosis, but you are giving the impression that you are prone to feeling outnumbered when you aren't. Unless you were thinking of another forum.

I was completely unaware that we were allowed to talk about other forums here. Something else changed in my absence?

Okay - I have a list of Council, Staff and members active in the past 24 hours. I've lumped everyone who's even moderate/centrist onto the "right-leaning" side and the number I come up with is: 57 Left-Leaning; 50 Right-Leaning or centrist/moderate. (I'm not sure it's okay to post the list as not all of the members have posted in this thread.) There were a couple I wasn't sure, so I looked at their profile and, unless they specifically said liberal or socialist, I put them on the right-leaning list. FWIW, I'm fairly certain 6 or 7 on the "right-leaning" side would take issue with that categorization, but I'm trying to be overly generous with it. I expect for most of us, we take more notice of the people who disagree with us (and definitely those who challenge us directly) than those who agree with us.

Unfortunately Trump conned a lot of good people with the help of a corrupt political party that knew what he was and a fgn adversary who wants a puppet in the WH.

Frecks is a smart woman and I'll let her respond when she has a chance.

Personally, I have never seen a perfect person (me included) in my entire life, much less, a perfect candidate. I try to weight their pro and cons, their positives against their negatives, their backgrounds and general characters. If I held any candidates to an impossible standard of perfection, there wouldn't be anyone I could vote for. Maybe having some clients I did work for, also from NYC, that behaved just like Trump does, with regard to short changing what they owed me (and other contractors on the job) in amounts that would have costed us all more in fees and time to recover, has skewed my opinion, but at the same time, his whole demeanor is repugnant to everything I was raised to differentiate thoughtfulness from thoughtlessness. NO one, friends or family in our Republican circle of family and friends, was brought up to behave in the manner Trump does, although a few remain to support him and the neo republican usurpation of the Republican Party. The rest believe Trump represents some of the worst of humanity that's only just above violent crime and outward criminal behavior in stature and nature. Con artistry deception on the level Donald Trump practices it and sadly continues to get away with it, is almost more heinous on some levels than violent crime because it is in many ways, like picking someone's pocket as you tell them how much you care about their struggles to get by. Trump will use people then stab them in the back, if they dare refuse at some point, to continue to support his con artistry and deception and stand up to it. The comments of those who have been fired or resigned, back this up to an extent if anyone hadn't already noticed how Trump has appears to inevitably run into relationship (head butting) problems with anyone that does not kow tow, 100% to him and dares differ with him, not to mention his known cheating in his wives. Yes, Clinton cheated in his wife, too, but she's still married to him and him to her, for people who claim to be Christian, a good thing, considering how the bible tells of how God hates divorce. We also do not have any allegations, much less the question of a $130,000 payment that Trump admits was made, but still hasn't come clean on what it was for. So far, he and his lawyer paid a woman $130,000 to keep quiet about something he says never happened.

Once again, I go back to how anyone who didn't like Clinton, even if all the allegations against her were true, would see anything better, not a whole lot worse, in Trump. If this is truly the logic a lot of Americans this nation have adopted, this nation is in deep doo doo and diving more toward the bottom of the gutter, than away from it or too ignorant to see how they are being deceived.

I hope you can understand my curiosity and my thoughts. A part of it is trying to understand, a part of it is skepticism, in consideration of knowing a lot of people have used the internet to pose as something they are not, as a means of trying to influence people a certain way, especially as it refers to politics and voting.
Trump exposed their hypocrisy for all to see. For years they pretended to care about Bill Clinton's affairs, or the supposed tendency of the Clintons unethically to walk right up to the line of illegal behavior, etc. But then Trump came along and showed they didn't really care about any of that garbage... it was just a convenient way to attack the Clintons, and they'd happily support a Republican who was an order of magnitude worse along all those fronts.
    Thanks from Pragmatist
