I really don't see what the differences between the US and DPRK really have to do with the price of tea in China though.

Military exercises and threats to bring "Fire and Fury" on a tiny isolated nuclear power ruled by a family dictator is a dangerous game. And a provocation. All evidence does suggest maybe it finally provoked him to meet with the US and take steps to denuclearize (not going to hold my breath), so I'm not saying it's bad that it was a provocation necessarily. But it seems a bit like Russian roulette to me. If the trigger gets pulled and there is no bullet, then we win, but that doesn't mean playing Russian roulette was a good idea.

I don't see the harm in admitting the obvious here.

So then, in your opinion, the US should have just pulled out of SK and allowed NK and China to take over? I mean, that's a valid argument, unlike the incredibly naive argument that you made earlier in the thread.

Not quite getting what you are disagreeing with. You do agree that threatening to obliterate a country run by a crazed dictator with nuclear weapons is a provocation, right? It's not like the US doesn't have a well established track record of attacking much weaker nations, and with Trump at the helm, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that things could get out of control when someone with no interest in protocol starts saber rattling (which is practically by definition, provocative). How is that na´ve? To me it seems na´ve to think that when the US does it, it's not provocative and when there is a reaction, to call it aggression from which we must protect ourselves. To each his own, I guess.

If you looking to play a game of Stratego with Patton's moves in the Korean peninsula, then I'm out. Just pointing out what is obvious to me.

That actually makes it worse, they dont have time to sit and watch news or read the paper. They get their news from memes and Facebook. Which is why we have Trump now.

just to be clear. Our military doesn't call them "war games". That's what Kim calls them. So, once again, Trump is getting his talking points, and trying to live vicariously through a brutal, murderous dictator.

I heard someone talking the other day about the Trump Doctrine. And the Trump Doctrine says this: that America has NO permanent allies OR enemies. Constant disruption is supposedly in America's interest! Keeping the rest of the world confused as to where we actually stand is supposedly in America's interest!

There you have it. And on those criteria, Trump is certainly doing a marvelous job.

They don't have time to watch the news or read the the paper but they have time to hang out on FB? They need to prioritize.
