The White House needs to take a more active role in culture. I look forward to Donald Trump naming Kathy Griffin artist-in-residence at Gitmo.

Boy, you really, REALLY don't understand this, do you? You just don't 'get' that all this contempt for Trump is well-deserved. He has earned every bit of it. With his remarks after Charlottesville, offering praise for the Neo-Nazis----there were some 'very fine people' marching with them, he said. With his many, many vile remarks about women, which couldn't even all be covered in one post.

You apparently read the OP, and it never even OCCURRED to you to ask WHY the artistic and intellectual community of America has so much contempt for Donald Trump. The thought quite literally never even entered your mind.

Is your mind then just puny that it cannot hold such thoughts, or cannot even turn them over to examine them? You can't even WONDER why America's artists and musicians and writers and intellectuals and academics seem to almost universally LOATHE Donald Trump?

    Apparently so.
Hey genius. Charlotteville happened after the Inauguration. And I love it when Clinton supporters act all high and mighty about the treatment of women. You voted for someone who enabled an infamous sexual predator.

How do you act so arrogant while posting something so idiotic?

And I do not care what the artistic community thinks. Maybe it's really important to you who Beyoncé is voting for. There are literally thousands upon thousands of people who's opinion matters more to me than some actor or musician. I do not care what some pampered celebrity thinks. I care what my friends think. I care what my neighbor thinks. Most of us do not care at all what some actor thinks. We enjoy movies and music. That's not an invitation for them to blather on about their political opinions. I don't want to hear that from the guy who rings me up at the store or fixes my toilet. I appreciate their work but that doesn't mean I want to be lectured by them either. So why would anyone want to hear about it from some celebrity?

I KNOW Charlottesville happened AFTER he took office, genius. So what? You think Trump said NOTHING CONTROVERSIAL before he took office? What, were you living under a rock during the campaign? Holy cow!!

And here you are, contradicting yourself. You say you don't care what all these musicians and artists think, yet you're all PISSED OFF because they won't show up to the White House to yuk it up or sing along with Trump. Hilarious. Make up your fucking mind, Macduff.

So what happens now? Does the music industry grind to a halt?

I'm not pissed off. I simply do not care that they don't have poetry readings at the White House. It's not a national crisis.
I guess I should be happy that Hollywood can take a break from raping each other long enough to drone on about how much they hate Trump.

    That should count.

But, it's how he governs that REALLY important.

Poetry, and music, and "artsy stuff"...not so much.
Trump definitely loves him some fast food.

Not every thread is about governence specifically. How the government works, is not the end all be all of our lives, right? As the President of our country, Trump is also an example and role model. These are things that he does not do well, and I think that's part of this thread. Also, some people believe American culture to be important. American culture is not just music. I imagine if we really dug, we could find NY centric stuff, that Trump would be into, that's a part of American culture too. Going back to fast food, cuisine is actually something.

Charisma. Is that what you call a man forcing himself on women or a middle aged man taking advantage of an intern?
