I pointed out to MaryAnne that Inslee is a year older than John Hickenlooper, and I think Inslee LOOKS ten years older!!

Sure they were qualified but boring and couldnt get that spark. If you break down the 2016 election to high school terms, HRC was the straight A student who was too smart and considered a bore while Trump was the kid who everybody knew his name and he gave swirlies in the toilet to the band kids. I dont know about you, but when I was in school, that kid had a lot of followers. The straight A kids had their little group but that was it. Its a shame we are stuck in a teen mentality these days with our politics.
The four great American politicians of the last century were: Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. Note that I did NOT say the four great Presidents. I rank Eisenhower as the greatest post-WWII President, but he wasn't a particularly great politician. Both JFK and RFK might have proven themselves to be great politicians, had they not been struck down by assassins.

Thats what I was talking about earlier about dems ignoring the local and state races, they dont have a deep bench. They are beginning to build one but most have little experience. I keep looking at various governors and thinking they would be good and then I Google them and they are 70! Hickenlooper does look young I thought maybe he was in his late 50s.

They all had that something I spoke about though. They made it feel like they spoke to everyone. People were taken by that and it impressed them. I remember having just moved here to NH and Bill Clinton was here campaigning for the primary. One woman said "he shook my hand and looked me in the eyes, nobody else did.." It made a difference. Too many politicians these days look like they are pandering or just talking to Hollywood.

Ha. If the person is insane sure. He is like every White House denizen and very gentle and caring.

Yeah, he's really ten years older than he looks! Which is why I think he might still be a credible candidate despite his age. Well, there's still his funny name as a handicap, I guess. But I think 'Trump' is a funny name, too.

Joe will turn 78 in November 2020.

That's too old for most Americans to vote for.

    He missed his chance.

    He could probably win too.

Well we have an old fart in there now so why pretend one old fart is worse than the current old fart?
