I said "millions of Americans".... I didn't say ALL Americans, or 55 year olds. YOU said that.

And yes, I AM BRILLIANT. I already know that. Thanks for the confirmation though.

It's the thought that counts. biggrin.gif

i remember that six week super majority. Yeah, itís a shame what they couldnít accomplish in that time.

I've said before that the GOP needs to flip-flop on health care. Just come out and say "we were wrong, so let's get serious now." What's their base gonna do about it, vote Democrat? Most of their base is already on some sort of government health program as it is.
2nd term? That's funny. It is true most of his base is already on the public dole for healthcare, they like the ACA. They just don't like Obamacare.

That being said, the Democrats have had many opportunities over the past 70 years to do something about this, but all we got from them was Obamacare.
And what the fuck did they get from republicans? You are here arguing for universal healthcare and blaming democrats because we don't have it? I've seen it all!

To insinuate that having a universal healthcare system is giving up liberty is outrageously fucking stupid. We already have universal healthcare for veterans and you are fucking on it, whatsa matter? You like security over liberty?

That increase wasn't to increase the number troops, it was to cover the increased costs of the steel we will need to build the next carrier.

Universal healthcare is around the corner and yes the cause of it will be because of the recent actions of republicans. The ACA was a halfassed attempt to cover millions more Americans with healthcare through the use of subsides for the poor and a mandate for all to be covered to hold down costs. It was great for some while screwing others. By eliminating the mandate republicans just cut the legs out from beneath the program and trump is right, it will implode on it's own. Without the mandate costs will now skyrocket like they never have before making it all but impossible for Americans to afford health insurance. Going back to what we had before is out of the question because premiums will not drop by doing so. That leaves one option, a universal healthcare plan such as single payer. The country is overwhelmingly for it and republicans will have no choice but to entertain the option.

The writing is on the wall and if you research the subject you will find countless authoritative sources that will tell you the same thing. There is no going back, it leaves only one option. The republicans will then argue it was trump and republicans that gave us universal healthcare but history will give you a different and far more accurate reason for why with just one word, Obama.
    Thanks from Friday13

Who the fuck reads backwards? If I am reading a thread and starting at the beginning as most people do and replying as I go along how do I know that when I get to page 3 I'm going to find that someone I have been replying to is gone. Yeah, maybe I could have noticed their name in the topbar but I don't pay attention to such things. Once I know I do my best to not reply to them any further. That is unless it is a reply to a post they made directly to me in which case I want my response known. If that is against the rules such is life, I ignore most of them anyway.

Just looking out for you and others who do it. It’s a habit from being a former mod.
    All good.
