Why would they? Does yours say you are a citizen? Mine doesnt.

Voter ID laws are intended to make it more difficult to vote, just as voter tests and poll taxes were intended for that same purpose back in the Jim Crow era.
...and your name and address only appear on the register at your designated precinct poll.

I though CA and a few other states in the SW did that in recent years because they wanted undocumented people to have car insurance.

Yes, drivers licenses for undocumented aliens specify that the person is a non-citizen, and they can't vote.

    Ms. babba,

In California, you don't have to present your drivers license, nor provide a social security number.

Registering to Vote | California Secretary of State

How will I identify myself when registering to vote?

The voter registration application asks for your driver license or California identification card number, or you can use the last four numbers on your Social Security card. If you do not have a driver license, California identification card or Social Security card, you may leave that space blank. Your county elections official will assign a number to you that will be used to identify you as a voter.

It's still a significant portion of the overall vote. My state doesn't allow voting by mail either, aside from absentee voting.

We still have the cards that we get when we register, but they will no longer accept them as ID at the polling places.
We just would announce our name and they cross it off. Thats why NH was home to the infamous James Okeefe who came here and voted using dead peoples names. He knew we had required nothing else. He was actually the reason why our laws were changed. People freaked out.

Frankly, what is there to stop them ? 20 states don't even require ID at all. Many more don't require a photo ID, and even the ones that require a photo ID, so what ? Millions of illegal aliens have employee photo IDs. They probably have other photo IDs too. None of these show proof of eligibility to vote, by being a US citizen.

This crazy situation is undoubtedly one of the reasons why Hillary Clinton got a relatively high popular vote score, especially in California, where illegals are in large numbers. I'm guess her AMERICAN vote score was far below Trump's. Shouldn't there be a way to check citizenship to keep our voting system honest and credible ?

As for mail voting, this is just about the opposite of a secure voting system. It has the least verification of all. Illegal aliens could be deported to let's say Mexico, and then still vote from there, even after being deported. All they need to is bring the ballot to Mexico with them, fill it out there, and mail it to a relative in Texas or Arizona, and have them send it in. Since you can bet that 95% of those votes would go to Democrats, why are Republicans being so lackadaisical on this, if they're are even doing any thing about it at all ?
You are kidding right? You think you can just request a voter ballot with no trail? Jesus Christ this is getting just weird.
    Thanks from Friday13 and Panzareta
