    Neo-Cons Push for Hillary’s Nomination

As I’ve written before, conservative pundits love Hillary Clinton and despise the party’s liberal base. While Karl Rove and George Bush have predicted that she will win the nomination, there’s a more basic reason why the right would be content with a President Hillary Clinton. It would not shift the political center of gravity, nor upset the current power structure where conservatives have flourished. In his October 12 column for the Washington Post, neo-conservative Charles Krauthammer lauded Hillary Clinton’s candidacy – calling her the “Great Navigator.” Never mind the rhetoric that she currently gives to win the primary, he said, for Hillary’s “liberalism is redeemed by her ambition; her ideology subordinate to her political needs.” While many liberals currently support Clinton, the right understands that – in a year where Democrats will probably win the Presidency – Hillary is the best that they can hope for.

You can do better then BeyondChron -- that's a hangout for Supervisor Chris Daly's backers and the folks who want to defeat Nancy Pelosi by running Cindi Shehan, and back Dennis Kucinich.

she has them in her pocket. she's representing democrats so she's liberal. so maybe she's a neon-lesbo-con-demo instead... or something.

    Murdock Explains Hillary Fundraiser

    James Joyner | Thursday, May 11, 2006

Robert Bluey, editor of Human Events online, interviewed Rupert Murdock about his controversial decision to host a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton.
“We think that she’s been effective on state issues and local issues here in a New York. She’s been an effective and good senator. And if people want to come to breakfast for $1,000, they’re welcome. It’s no big deal. It’s not a million-dollar raising. It’s got nothing to do with anything other than her Senate re-election.”
Audio is available at the link.
Far be it from me to give advice to an entrepreneur who has built a small newspaper into a multi-gazillion dollar media empire. Still, this explanation is rather odd. Either embrace the decision or rescind it. By taking this halfway approach, any goodwill garnered with the Clinton camp will be minimized while conservatives will still be angry. If you’re going to get involved in politics, pick a side.

Murdoch contributing to her campaign simply proves that Murdoch contributed to her campaign. Nothing more...
