Georgia Senate overwhelmingly passes Sovereignty Resolution

Another state joining the ranks of sovereign states. Look at the margin by which it passed! Amazing!

Thats good. then they should stop paying income taxes for SS, medicare and federal education. Or at least deny those activities and save money for people who want them...

I just don't see much point in that resolution if a state won't do anything about it, but its a start.

Yes. I think if enough states pass them, then, as a group, they would be more emboldened to show a few teeth. Right now, it is touchy.

It would be a good thing for states to withhold payments to the feds until the feds recognize state rights and back off...

The problem with that is it is not the "state" that would be doing the withholding, but is instead a U.S. citizen who would be doing the withholding (by not paying the IRS). I don't think many would have the nerve to do that as of yet.

Keep thinking, though. There's got to be something the states can do that doesn't jeopardize the individual citizens so greatly.

but states collect taxes for the feds in other areas like cigaerette and other things that they send to the feds on a quartly basis if they could withhold these funds it may send a message
