BO never had my support from the getgo, but that's not saying he won't have it throughout his term.

I support his decision to act with the coalition in Libya and I see conservatives in Congress are busting his balls for that.

For the most part, BO's agenda goes against the grain of my fundamental political ideology, but nothing is linear.

Kinda like you're a sock puppet for Fox huh.

Some think that putting an end to our imperialist wars is saving American G.I.s lives.
That's the way I see it.

Obama still has my support. How much foreign policy experience do you have, Sparta? Think you could do better making these decisions? Were you in the war room with Obama and his administration trying to come to a decision? Did you like seeing Ghaddafi slaughter his own citizens? We, as with other civilized countries do not sit back and watch genocide.
No, I don't think this is a good choice. I will say about the Libyans the same thing I said about the Iraqis...when the right started changing the "mission" in Iraq from simple invasion and occupation to "spreading democracy:" You can't "give" someone their freedom. They have to want it, and they have to want it SO badly that nothing will stop them from going out and getting it for themselves. Egypt proves the validity of this theory. It wasn't just one segment of the Egyptian population that wanted their freedom, it was the majority of the Egyptian people. Net result? Not ONE US bomb needed to be dropped in Egypt. Iraq also proves this theory. Years after being "liberated" from Saddam we are still fighting insurgents and terrorists. Terrorists and insurgents may be supported (remotely) by Iran...BUT, this kind of movement requires local support and intelligence to remain vital. Some portion of the Iraqi citizenry (and it's not a small portion) DOESN'T want the government we would wish to impose upon them.

It will be the same with the Libyans and the Afghanis.

It wasn't the war that made me lose any thought of supporting the Obama administration in 2012...

It was the failure to establish principled governance.

The simple fact is that much of what George W. Bush did was wrong. Some of it was illegal.... and continuing these policies (Gulag gitmo, warrantless wiretaps, torture, and etc) doesn't become RIGHT simply because the guy in the Whitehouse has a "D" by his name.

I don't give a shit about the political/diplomatic drivel, although that is still a serious crime. If he placed his brothers and sisters in the service at risk he is the most despicable of despicable human beings. I hope he "falls down a ladder" (a Naval euphemism for getting the shit beat out of him) many many times on the way to his firing squad.
The point is that he has not been tried. We don't know if he did anything illegal until our courts, military or otherwise, rule that he did something illegal. Or do you think we should depend on vigalante justice? Does our justice system suck that bad? Really? Is that what you think?

He was not running in the last election, who gives a shit when he ran in the past. You should write in Ronald Reagan, you would have about as much chance of electing him as you would Paul.

Excuse me and please correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't 2008 the last presidential election. Vote Ron Paul in Louisiana and Montana!

He was a candidate in 08 Prag, and like it or not he was the best choice. You stick with your vote, you deserve BushBamaCain.

He was not a candidate for President in 2008, Mike... he was a candidate to be the Republican nominee. After losing that, he chose not to then run for President as an Independent or Libertarian.

Yeah yeah yeah... due process and all that. He sounds pretty much like a traitor to me.

Bradley E. Manning (born December 17, 1987) is a United States Army soldier who was arrested in May 2010 in Iraq on suspicion of having passed classified information to the whistleblower website WikiLeaks. He was charged in July that year with transferring classified data onto his personal computer, and communicating national defense information to an unauthorized source between November 19, 2009, and May 27, 2010. An additional 22 charges were preferred in March 2011, including "aiding the enemy," a capital offense, though prosecutors said they would not seek the death penalty. He is currently awaiting a hearing to decide whether he will face a court martial.
