Autism and Vaccines Researcher for CDC, Indicted for Fraud and Money-Laundering

The son-of-a-bitch can rot under the jail. This guy writes peer reviewed studies for profit and lied about the connection.

Poul Thorsen, the principal coordinator of multiple studies funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) used to deny a vaccine/autism link was indicted on April 13th on 13 counts of fraud and 9 counts of money-laundering. The charges relate to funding for work he conducted for the CDC, which claimed to disprove associations between the mercury-based vaccine preservative, thimerosal, and increased rates of autism.

All I can say is thank god we got rid of Thimerosal. It's been out of childhood vaccines for a decade, and autism rates have been dropping ever since.

    Thumbs up!

On a serious note, yeah - the guy is a douche. However, the charges are related to misappropriation of funds. His research, and the results thereof, have not been called into question.

Yeah but now it they have aluminum and adjuncts(SP). There is another link to vaccines and autism, swelling of the brain from getting multiple jabs at once.

But none of this has anything to do with the original post. He spent research money himself. He's a douche. However, no one is questioning any of his published studies.

    Did you say "Andrew Wakefield?"

You know the article that stated he lied was a lie, he never admitted to fraud or was even interviewed? You know that right??

Dude... He got his sample test subjects from a kid's birthday party, and tried to pass it off as valid research. The UK General Medical Council accused him of professional misconduct, and ruled against him on all charges, including that he:

    • Was being paid to conduct the study by solicitors representing parents who believed their children had been harmed by MMR".

    • Ordered investigations "without the requisite paediatric qualifications" including colonoscopies, colon biopsies and lumbar punctures ("spinal taps") on his research subjects without the approval of his department's ethics board and contrary to the children's clinical interests, when these diagnostic tests were not indicated by the children's symptoms or medical history.

    • "Acted 'dishonestly and irresponsibly' in failing to disclose ... how patients were recruited for the study". (the patients were recruited by anti-MMR campaigns)

    • "Conducted the study on a basis which was not approved by the hospital's ethics committee."

    • Purchased blood samples - for £5 each - from children present at his son's birthday party, which Wakefield joked about in a later presentation.

Furthermore, the primary reporter on the subject, Brian Deer, challenged Wakefield to sue him for libel. If the reporting that led to Wakefield's dismissal was dishonest, then Wakefield would have a slam dunk case.

Wakefield has not leveled any charges against the reporter. He is done, out of the medical profession, and good riddance.

Then how come Wakefiled and other researchers have not been able to reproduce his study results?
Wakefield was on the payroll of lawyers trying to sue the vaccine manufacturers. Think that might have had something to do with his results? The GMC stripped him of his medical license and Lancet retracted his study. He doesn't have credibility anymore.
