President Obama to defend military involvement in Libya

President Obama is set to defend U.S. military involvement in Libya to Congress as soon as today, according to the White House.
The subject line speaks for me.

No idea on whether or not the Senate will pass the same language.

It might be wise for Obama to back down on Libya. It seems no one is really in the mood for this stuff anymore.

Especially Libya, though. Both sides of the aisle in congress are getting pissed because they think he's surpassing his constitutional authority. That can be real bad news for a president.

Why? What are they going to do about it? Congress plays a ceremonial role in the U.S. regime's war-making decisions.

You could be right. That's been true for about 40 years now. They could be ready to draw a line in the sand on this one. The resistance on Libya is more bipartisan than I recall seeing up until now, though. We'll see.
