    Your job and education

For the benefit of forum members, I thought I'd start a thread where we could post what we do for a job (if you're retired you can post that too, and feel free to tell us what you used to do if you want), and what education we have. It's often helpful to know what background other forum members are coming from. I'll start off.

Job: Currently I'm a senior undergrad completing my last term of university. However, soon I will be applying for jobs overseas in Korea teaching English.

Education: I'm finishing up a BA in Political Science with a Minor in Public Administration.

I raise money for a very cool, Renzo Piano designed sculpture museum in Dallas, TX. I handle all of our major gifts and highest end fundraising (meaning primarily people who give us $1,000 - $25,000 per year). I get to go to lots of fancy parties and kiss lots of arse. Essentially, I'm a professional schmoozer.

I currently work a very low position in local government. It's boring and does not use my degree, but it beats the service jobs I'm used to... And being that I live in Michigan, it beats unemployment.

I have a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Political Science and I'm working on an MPA.

BA Int'l Relations with an econ track; MA Political Economy.. applying for a PhD in the same field at a few schools and Int'l trade or energy management at some other schools.

Have a minimum 2-year contract with Sinopec, an energy and chemical company in China that's paying for my tuition... (and doesn't realize that I have scholarships, grants, and aid... that I don't live on campus and am literally being paid to go to college for 8 years...). I'm a good long-term investment I guess

I studied Electrical Engineering and Cognitive Science at UCI while doing estate liquidation and electrical work, and now I'm going to do a three year stint for the US Army MI Corps as an imagery analyst.

Self employed most of the time although I do some work for a local consulting company every now and then. I do computer programming and web developing. Barely attended high school. Joined the Navy. Did one stint and got out. Took some college courses, hated'em, dropped out the first year then went to work doing geeky stuff for a friend of mine. After that worked for a few corporations and finally went out on my own several years ago. I love it.

Currently a transportation data analyst for the US Air Force. I have an AA in Logistics and am working on a BA in Logistics. I also have over 20 years in the US Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. My military training consisted of 4 different levels of schooling for leadership, hazardous materials certification, mobility training, air base ground defense, and countless other courses required in my profession.
