Liberals Are Living in a Dream World

    http://www.thepilot.com/news/2011/se...g-dream-world/

Far more voters exist who earn less than a million dollars a year than those who do, so taxing the greedy rich serves to impress the lower-paid voters. No matter that most of those in that higher bracket are small businessmen who are the real creators of jobs. Getting re-elected is more important than growing jobs.

The average small business makes only about $100k/yr. That's a far cry from those earning a million per year.

How Much Money do Small Business Owners Make?

Funny how you say that Democrats are living in a dream world as you demonstrate that it's the other way around.

Also, I want to specifically address:
"Getting re-elected is more important than growing jobs"

This is a great quote when combined with the sort of sabotaging obstructionism the GOP has been responsible for these last four years. Then you get Romney who other Republicans are claiming will stand for anything to be elected. Then look at the GOP talking about gay marriage, contraception, creationism, etc...

Maybe this is really a topic you shouldn't be drawing attention to.

Well, um.... y'know how we're always taking great pains to point out that Republicans are no longer conservative?

In this case, I'm afraid, your author has confused "liberals" with the Democratic Party.

The two are not the same.

In fact, many liberals I know, are quite disenchanted with the Democratic Party at this point.

Everyone knows by now - everyone knows - that the only way we're going to get any sanity in our economic space is to start regulating and breaking up the large multi-national banks and insurance companies.

And we're specifically not going to get that sanity with tax cuts, and we're not going to get it by turning our backs on regulation either.

And we're also not going to get it unless we put an end to the lobbying dollars which amount to ten times a Congressman's salary.

The Democratic Party has shown us unequivocally that they're not willing to do any of the things that are needed in this space.

And the Republican Party surely won't do it either.

So, where does that leave us?

It's been 10 years since the first Bush tax cuts for the rich. Where are the jobs?

Exactly. Where are the damn jobs?

The Republican Party's snake oil sucks, friend. There are no jobs. The Bush tax cuts didn't result in jobs, they resulted in a Dow at 6500 and a million homes foreclosed.

The Bush tax cuts resulted in millions of jobs being blown out of the water! And plenty of good people lost their homes because of Bush's astounding economic ignorance, and not only that but the asshole changed the personal bankruptcy laws so now their debts are going to follow them in spite of the fact they've just lost their house.

Goddamit, get thee behind a rock, Satan. You 'pubs better find a place to stuff that snake oil, 'cause if you keep coming to the table with that crap I'm gonna open the fuckin' bottles and pour 'em out.

Obama's job growth efforts have been focused on Big labor unions as a reward for their support of him, and his party. that doesn't help the general population, and that is why Republicans are obstructing Obama's efforts. One example would be the issue of Boeing opening a plant in South Carolina which Obama's administration meddled with repeatedly in support of their big labor union leash holders. One thing you have to say about Obama, once bought he stays bought.

As opposed to Romney, who's always up for the highest bidder?

Wait a minute, labor unions are the general population. WTF are you talking about?

Who's being excluded, the rich investors or something? They don't need jobs, do they?
