Amendment to USC giving voters the power to recall President & Congressmen

I propose an Amendment to the US Constitution, which would allow the voters of any state to recall their Congressmen or Senators, or the voters of the nation to recall the President.

For Congressmen, this would first require a petition signed by at least 100,000 eligable voters. Once that is reached, a referendum on holding a new election for Senator or Congressmen in 6-months time would be held.

For President, 100,000 eligable voters in 2/3rds of the states would have to sign a petition.

If reached, a referendum on holding a new national election in 6-months time would be held.

    What do you think?

It didn't work in Wisconsin all that well. They were able to dump the Republican majority in the Senate.

Just impeach the president. That's bad enough. We've increasingly made it difficult for presidents to do their jobs because of constant harrying by various forces of a legal or political bent. Four years is little enough time to do anything significant with a nation this large and unwieldy. Adding recall would only make the situation worse. We just got rid of special prosecutors a few years ago--this suggestion would be worse than they were.
