The Republican reaction to the Arab spring is particularly funny by the way. First they were jumping up and down on all the talk shows cheering for the Arab spring and saying that it was the result of Bush's attacking Iraq. Now they are furious about "Obama's Arab spring". lol. These are countries where the people of the country overthrew brutal dictators and replaced them with democracy. Are you saying that you're against that all of a sudden? That has been the whole goal of conservative foreign policy for as long as I can remember... All this is is the right trying to score political points any which way they can. It isn't a serious policy position.

Not a republican. And I remember more that republicans were saying more about it not being the democratic movement the administration was selling this as, then cheering saying it was bush who did it.

When the story broke, every story, every hour started with "internet video" as the cause of the attacks. Since the intelligence and state departments had nothing to do with this line of crap, it is clear it came from the White House. This was the media covering Obama's ass and Obama covering up the truth.

Layer Two: Insufficient preparations for 911 and the warnings by the ambassador and his staff.

One of the things Obama was trying to cover up.

Layer Three: Broad. Strategic errors in fighting the war on terror

Another of the things Obama was trying to cover up.

Motive and scandal: re-election superseding the people's right to know.

Here we have an Administration doing nothing but calling their political opponent a liar......absolutely lying through their teeth. The media as well should be flat out ashamed of themselves sinking as low as to report this event was a demonstration gone awry on Sept 11 inspired by some f'n youtube movie. We had Members on this forum completely f'n lost blaming the movie's producer and calling for the person who merely promoted the movie burned in effigy. What in Gods name?

This event makes us look stupid, America. The Secretary of State up there crying that "we had nothing to do with this movie." Susan Rice....completely f'n lost coming out on Tv either spewing ignorance or outright lies. This was a coordinated attack on our sovereignty and we sit here a month later...where you would think the Obama Admin would want to seem capable and confident....they instead still don't have their story straight. We know a media outlet went in and retrieved vital investigation information, where was the US military especially our CiC?

We now know many requests were made to enhance security and structure. We now know there were dozens of security events in Libya in 2012 alone.....somebody dropped the f'n ball. And the lies and media coverage that followed belong in the national hall of shame just like this ridiculous Presidency we've all had to endure as a result of an emotionally charged hope and change candidate who swept the nation off its' feet. What a joke. You liberals especially deserve criticism, you've propped this circus act up long enough. Be patriotic for a change and vote Romney/Ryan.

Today's HOR hearings are an abuse of power by the GOP.
They are continuing to use the House as a political weapon to attack Obama & should repay the taxpayer for abusing OUR House for a partisan GOP weapon that could cost Americans their lives overseas!

I can agree that the State Department should have provided more security but I'm not certain any of this is anymore than that mistake. You've attempted to make it more than that and you've convinced some, but I'm not convinced. That's an awful lot of conjecture you've thrown out there.

I don't have to convince anyone. I heard with my own ears for 5 days on WTIC- AM, on the hour, EVERY HOUR, the reports and every time the reports said protests "caused" by an internet video. That's not news. That is ass covering propaganda. And it came from the White House. It's nice for the folks in power when the press bends over and says "do me again please" over and over and over. We are on your side and we are so happy to support your lies.

No, this is simply collusion by the press and the white house to spin the death of 4 Americans and shift blame onto someone else.

You assume the media is liberal so you assume they're covering for Obama. I know CNN sent people in on the ground and got the ambassador's diary and immediately started reporting some contradictions. I haven't been watching news much lately, I value my sanity, but I read a lot. Yes, many news orgs ran with the story about the video at first, but I don't chalk it up to their covering for Obama. There just wasn't much more to report at first. The news media has cut their foreign news budgets to almost nothing so they never know what the hell is going on outside of this country. It's all about the profit, don't ya know. You seem to be desperate for this to be a huge scandal for Obama, but I still don't see it. Did you know that this is how some saw Bush's relationship with the news media.



Most of the news rolled over for Bush on Iraq. I wouldn't call that a liberal bias. Our current news media plain old sucks. As my Republican boss says, if we had the news media we have today during Watergate, Nixon would have gotten away with it.

Romney has pretty much said he'll go back to Bush policies on taxes and his foreign policy team are the same neo-cons from the Bush WH. So it seems to me that a Romney presidency will resemble a Bush presidency. So i don't think it's a false equivalency.
