so, you know how to pump out oil. The fact you think its infinite means you have no clue. No resource on this planet or universe is infinite, not even the sun (it has to burn out eventually)

Too bad you don't get to decide that. Oil is not infinite. They aren't made by oil fairies.

you've said actually nothing to help your argument along but the typical, ignorant rants about alternative energy. In fact, you've hurt it

OH, don't be such a fucking cry-baby drama queen.. You want to debate, so lets debate. I asked some simple and very basic questions. You going to answer or just sit there and cry I'm picking on you?
W/O saying anything of my own WHAT?
I know about basic business. The cost to find, recover, refine and transport ANY raw material is vital.

Don't expect energy suppliers to lower their prices or lift-cost projections until the "greens" finally admit they've been full of shit about "finite resources".
Oil companies raise the price of oil because of greenies? Let me tell you a secret-Its Supply and Demand!

The "fossil fuel" concept took another hit when researchers at U of Michigan turned algae into petroleum in under a minute by enclosing it in sand and subjecting it to intense heat and pressure. They concluded algae ponds in warm climates with lots of sunshine could produce enough petroleum for part of our energy requirements...well DUH, that describes Louisianna and south Texas where we've always gotten our finest oil from. The "finite resource" jokers can't explain why old, thought to be tapped-out wells, are suddenly producing again.
If you were the oil and NG companies, would you want the price of your product to go up or go down?

I'd want to satisfy my stockholders. Business these days is supposed to operate for the greater good instead of making a sizeable profit....and I believe they should. But when these company boards are no longer comprised of stictly American nationals, there is little interest in strictly American values. This is why it's important for us to understand their purpose is to make as large a profit as possible to invest in future energy sources. Look at what's happened in the last 20 years....cars get twice the mileage they did before....the consequent dropoff in sales resulted in a doubling of the price for them to survive, right? All we ask for is a level playing field and to realize no part of this economy will improve until what's stopping us from recovery is the current administration.

BTW, being from the Great Lakes country, I've watched the waves on those lakes for years and wondered why they aren't spinning a wheel to produce electricity? I don't care to build more nuclear plants until Harry Reid is either dead or in prison. We built an amazing waste facility in Nevada he will not allow to be completed. But back to water....."wave/current" energy could be made viable from both coasts, the Great Lakes, and every river inside our boundries...it's clean, it's easy to do, and it's local. Plus it could end the life of several dams that should never have been built in the first place.
