Or what Pablo did in Medillin and Bogota. And they think our nation is exceptional in a good way. Today I will have a good time watching the fireworks but I will not be celebrating America as it is right now. No sir, I will reflect on what it could be not what it is.
Great! Love it. there is not one of these illegal aliens that needed to come all the way into the USA, illegally, to apply for asylum. There are 9 councilor offices and one embassy in Mexico where any of these illegals could have made their application legally. Arrested and separated from your minor children is the total fault of those that chose to break the law of the USA.

What about the 2.7 million kids whose at least one parent is in prison, or the 400k in foster car, or the 765k kids that has a parent deployed serving in the military and don't know if they will ever see them again. Cry me a river of crocodile tears why don't you.....

Indios? Ya mean displaced Asians? LOL! Besides that North American so called Indians were the left overs and the slow of those displaced Asians. The smart ones, the inventive ones went south to build massive, advanced cultures. North American Indians built nothing.

The law's the law, ain't it?

Speeding and running stop lights and stop signs, DUI can take the life of another, yet, what are the laws generally, regarding them as well as the "sentence"?

    Contrast that, with this.

"After serving 21 years of a life sentence received after a conviction for a first-time nonviolent drug offense, Johnson is expected to be released from prison soon."
    https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/03/opini...ion/index.html

Some people want to enforce laws that don't necessarily fit the crime, literally and without discretion. Others use discretion with regard to strict enforcement of the law and sentencing. In some cases sentencing is guided by law to leave little room for discretion.

It wasn't too long ago that crime laws under Clinton came into scrutiny (with no defense of them by those want to "CRACK DOWN" on crime and immigration laws now and claim that "illegal" means "illegal", even as they allow the POTUS to push the edge and perhaps cross the line of legal and ethical limits with his own actions.

Perhaps one way to test laws to see if taken literally or when discretion about penalties are removed and if you break the law you are thrown, for all intents and purposes, in a common cell (away from your family and freedom) until the court system can hear your case. In other words, you are guilty, until proven innocent. Everyone knows that's an OLD OLD American tradition and ideology, right?

Maybe people who speed in their vehicles and run stop signs should be sentenced for things like attempted murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and not given a court date for them to show up, but held in a cell (it can have a nice cot and they get three meals and maybe a teddy bear too) until they can be proven innocent?

In any case, we seem to either need some consistency or we need to better understand the origins of law, the purposes for them, the allowance or lack of allowance for discretion in both enforcement and sentencing, because we sure seem to be at one another's throats for things they we either don't understand, don't want to understand, hold double standards about or "just don't care, do" about.

We're like an airplane ripping itself apart, with a pilot who seems to get more pleasure out of seeing what he can do to help the plane rip apart faster, than he cares an iota about trying to land the plane safely.

America may want to decide whether it prefers to have a 9/11 style hijacker at the controls of its aircraft or a Chesley Sullenberger..........because right now, it sure seems like we have someone closer to a person that is working to "land" the plane by ramming it into most of what America stands for, rather than land the craft and have all people onboard survive safely.

One thing is for sure, any enemies of the United States just love to see Americans fight one another for obvious reasons. No doubt there are also some mentally ill among them that may get some sick pleasure out of pissing people off.

Are you an American? If so, you are quite ignorant or forgetful.

This is an ignorant post. If you want to understand WHY the civilized regions of the Western Hemisphere arose in Mesoamerica and the Andean region of South America, and not in North America, you would do well to read a book like Guns, Germs, and Steel, by Jared Diamond. Mesoamerica and the Andean region were the areas that had plants that could be domesticated. North America for the most part did NOT. Agriculture is necessary for building advanced cultures.

Yes. Of course the Mesa Verde culture was a late outgrowth of the much more advanced cultures that had emerged much earlier to the south, in Mesoamerica. The term means roughly the southern two thirds of what is nowadays Mexico, plus the northern third of Central America.

We are all descended from Africans every single one of us.

You mean they didn't pollute the whole continent in the name of buying stuff? instead it was in pristine condition so white capitalists could spread their toxic filth over land, sea and sky.
