Good catch.
I did spend some time with the John McCain parody to examine my feelings. (In case you haven't noticed, I'm a bit "on the right.")
I have admit I did feel mildly annoyed at the picture, and that's about it.
Mind, I'm not terribly enamored of John McCain.
For the record, what I find amusing about the New Yorker Cover is that it was printed on the cover of that particular publication, and the reactions it generated, more that the rather poorly executed image itself.
If NY cover image had appeared, say, on the cover of the Limbaugh Letter, I don't think I'd have given it much thought.
SOME FARMERS ARE JUST FRIENLY FOLKS WITH A LOT OF FEELING FOR THEIR
FELLOW AMERICANS...
An Amish farmer walking, notices a man drinking from his pond,
with his hand.
The Amish man shouts: "Trink das wasser nicht. Die kuhen haben
dahin gesheissen." Which means: "Don't drink the water, the cows
have pooped in it."
The man shouts back: "I'm from Chicago and just down here
campaigning for Obama, I can't understand you. Please speak in
English."
The Amish man
says: "Use two hands, you'll get more."
