Blue America Without Red America Would Be A Basket Case

    One possible scenario:

The July 4, 2019, ceremony marking the final dissolution of the United States of America was quite amicable compared to the anger and bitterness of the preceding five years. The 2014 election results created a map clearly defining “Red America” and “Blue America,” and it sparked a debate, unlike any in the last 150 years, over whether the United States should remain united.

Soon, it became an article of faith within the liberal elite that it was not only their party that did not need the rest of America. Blue America itself, they argued, did not need Red America, economically, intellectually or morally. It was not long until newly-elected Governor De Blasio of New York demanded a national convention to discuss a parting of the ways. The President, her health poor and her heart firmly with the Blue America, half-heartedly tried to stop the movement, but more and more high profile Democrat politicians joined the chorus. The President yielded and called for a “national conversation on the way forward as separate nations.” Red America, furious at her continuation of Barack Obama’s rule by decree and interference in its affairs, agreed to attend.

Blue America’s deficit exploded even as Red America balanced its budget, per the one new amendment it had added to the Constitution. But Red America’s budget was strained when the nation had to send its military to support Israel after the Jewish state came under massive attack for destroying Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Blue America not only refused to assist, but refused to let Red forces use its bases or ports. The rumors that Red American pilots in B-2 bombers and F-22 fighters flew many of the original anti-nuke missions over Iran alongside the Israeli Air Force were never confirmed.

With its economy slowing to a standstill, and riots erupting in Chicago and Philadelphia, the liberal ruling elite found itself a convenient scapegoat for Blue America’s woes – its neighbor. “Red plants pollute our skies, Red corporations exploit the land, and Red bankers steal our wealth!” Vice President Warren charged. “We need to fight back against the Red wreckers!”

you know this is fantasy because the riot in Chicago was after the Cubs won the World Series and the riot in Philadelphis followed a Super Bowl win by the Eagles.

Blue America and Red America are urban and rural, respectively. They depend on each other like the mother-son duo of a grown directionless single man living with his widowed mother depend on each other. The mother is the liberal clinging to the emotional collectivist notion that we're in this together, so please don't leave me, but you have to do what I say. The son resents the mother and yearns to leave the nest but doesn't particularly want to accept the reality that goes with true independence. Mom has most of the money, the son does favors and basic labor for the mother, and both barely tolerate each other but refuse to actually part ways despite the pathological relationship.

red states get more federl dollars thus they balance on the back of real Americans.

lets reverse it for 25 years, let blue states receive more than they pay in and see how long red states function.

We up here receive more federal dollars per capita primarily because the feds shut down our timber industry and dish out consolation money in exchange for not allowing us to grow our local economies. The other reason is PILT, the feds control most of our land and won't let us develop it, thus dish out money for that too. Quid pro quo, stop blocking our resource development and let us create jobs and we'll happily forego the SRS and PILT funding.

It's not like this is a new phenomenon, or a new sentiment. But 100 years ago or so, the parties were reversed:

Oh, please. The "Red" states would drown in interracial violence before too long. You openly talk of preventing certain groups of people from voting and denying them other rights. Combine that with "Red" cops shooting some more unarmed minority youths, and you'll get your Syria-style civil war, with black militias backed by the "Blues", Hispanic armed groups probably supported by the Mexican government and drug cartels. Hell, maybe Muslims too lol So, maybe not like Syria, more like East Ukraine Either way, good luck to ya in that future. That's probably how the Hunger Games will eventually become a real thing in North America...

Bullshit. Mississippi has no timber industry. Mississippi has a moron industry. Mississippi cuts all state funding to their morons and the rest of the country has to pick up the tab.

Let the people of Red States pay the taxes for their people's benefits...or let the people of Red states do without.

Let's see if Red state politicians stay in power telling the people of their state the truth. Conservative don't care where the money comes from...so long as it comes.

Democrats may be tax and spend...but conservatives are definitely cut and spend.
